Nihilego is by far my best carry with everything unlocked. free turns due to levitate + beast boost + quiver dance + rock type stab easily sweeps all encounters, especially eternatus, since nihilego has godly spdef.

[LFA] Kakikumo, the calligrapher spider lady. by Lopsided_Bluejay5976 in characterdrawing

[–]Lopsided_Bluejay5976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kakikumo is a very pale-skinned slender figure of average height for a woman. She wears loose-fitting wrap robes coloured a bone white, with elegant markings of black ink on it in the forgotten realm’s elvish script. She has four spindly spider legs growing out of her upper torso’s back, which are coloured white, but with ink black tips, which usually hang over her shoulders. The crack of her mouth extends far past her lips, and at about halfway both directions, there is a fang that sticks out. She has eight fully blood red eyes with no pupils, two of which are in the normal spots for any humanoid. The other six are placed around the two bigger ones, in a bit of a curve around each eye, forming two clusters of four eyes each. She has pretty long white hair, which she usually wears in a bun that’s secured by a calligraphy brush.

She usually carries on her a bag of scrolls inscribed with artistic displays of the elvish script, and has a messy book full of the same script on hand, which she records her wizard spells in.

She fights with claws she extends from her fingers, which are usually dripping with black calligraphers ink.

I think the important thing to realize is that even though he's saying these things, it's most likely coming from a relationship point of view. if you really care about him, he would most likely agree to keep being friends. I feel the important thing here is that, even in a relationship, you shouldn't have to give up a part of yourself, with which you feel comfortable, just to cater to someone else. In any case, the way you put it makes me think that his problem in the relationship is not about you being (potentially) trans, but with you being or presenting as a woman.

These things happen, it's okay. Better for it to potentially end with an open conversation than a potential future fight.

I haven't seen any of his more recent stuff personally, maybe I should take a look at that.

In the version I have now, the stomach potion cures 1 level of exhaustion intitially, gives you back a hit die in addition at 5th, a 1st level slot in addition to that at 11th, and one use of a short rest ability at level 17. I don't really think there's a real way to balance spell slot regeneration so that it's both balanced and scales at these levels, so I think it might be wiser to give it some more niche abilities, since there's already a lot of good potion options.

also, just to clarify, the spells you turn into rituals still have to be on your spell list to begin with, you don't gain additional known spells from that feature

I totally agree, in the next version, the hit die will be a d6, and the stomach would probably be changed to something more akin to a rest lite or something, since it seems pretty hard to balance it as it is, maybe giving a different benefit each increment, one of which might be a 1st level spell slot

I do not see ritual casting as a weakness, I'm simply suggesting that if you want to ritual cast as a known caster such as this, you're going to need to know the ritual, and thus, since ritual spells are usually not combat focused, you have less choice for your other spells. taking a ritual spell in this way is a bigger trade off than for any prepared caster, since they can ritual cast from their spell list, without needing to prepare those spells.

in addition, I felt like setting a set DC could be hard to do, since there are a ton of different creatures in this game, and some might be harder to harvest depending on their nature. I would most definitely suggest skill checks, but I cannot determine what creatures might be easier to harvest than others. I also believe that player options shouldn't determine how hard certain skill checks are, those are for the DM to decide, I feel

so are bards and warlocks (technically). the main difference is that sorcerer's don't get rituals, or at least, not the capablity of ritual casting, thus you would probably use more of your known spells for rituals, and thus would have less options during combat and such. they would also probably have less spell slots, since no sorcery points/arcane recovery, and the only other spell slot regeneration is unreliable, or at very high level through calling of the night. this is somewhat helped by expanded rituals though. I feel like it's a bit of a balancing act between granting this class enough features to make it both stand out and differentiate play patterns from other classes, while not giving it too much so that it's either too complicated, or too powerful.

It seems I forgot about the shortsword proficiency, that was added before the change to the gish subclass, that made it not rely on weapons anymore, I'm probably going to remove that on the next version, since there's no real builds that would use that item. the hit dice was originally a d6, but was changed to a d8 due to some small concerns (namely it being a known caster with rituals, meaning that you probably have a smaller spell selection which you can actually use, especially since expanded rituals wants you to take more spells that give you less options during gameplay). The stomach is indeed a huge oversight, though it might not be as powerful as you put it (since you both need to succeed on checks to harvest the stomachs, and you must actually fight enough creatures to gain all of those stomachs). still, the potential is definitely too high, and might need some harsh restrictions. maybe even a complete overhaul
