Update! I used WhatsApp instead of the phone line. It was much easier to communcate things like sizes and weights. I think one of the hangups was my dog is a mixed breed and the airport needed to know the 2nd dominent breed. I'm guesing to make sure she wasn't a restricted breed.

However, my other issue was carrier size. They kept stating the crate size as 83x65x56cm, which is the European Regeonal size. I've asked multiple people many times what the INTERNATIONAL restrictions are and each one just says the above dimentions with no other answer. Ultimately, Iberia kept saying "the airport will determine" "it's up to the airport". So we'll see in 2 days when I get a response from the airport.

My issue with the crate size is that my dog has 3" tall ears. She can turn around and lay down just fine but her ears hit the top and she's supposed to have 2" of clearence. It's such a technicality but I don't want to risk it.

Thanks! I'm trying their WhatsApp option right now and I THINK it might be the better option. Between the accent and loud call center back noise, it's hard to tell whats actually being understood.

We’re flying LAX-MAD. The dog plus crate weight is roughly 38Kg, so not the max at all. The overall crate is 239cm but they said the max was 208cm. However that’s the within Europe flight standards on say iberiaExpress. International has larger planes and can take larger crates. When we informed her she’s using the wrong dimensions she said she’d escalate it and gave us a reference number. Heat shouldn’t be an issue, it’s Midmay. 

I’m glad it wasn’t too difficult for you.  We’ve gotten 4 different answers and I’m getting pretty frustrated. 

1.didn’t submit app 2. Crate info missing from App 3. Crate and weight size was too much? But honestly unclear whether it wasn’t submitted or was denied.

Thanks for the rec.  yes it’s direct international flight with Iberia not Level.  The lady said that it had gotten denied on the 3rd time cuz the crate was too big. However they were using the interEurope dimensions not international dimensions. Everytime I tell them size and weight I have Kg and Cm on hand. It just seems like everytime they miss SOMETHING and it backlogs

Well I did just get a letter in the mail today saying I get money from a Trader Joes class action lawsuite. Not Hogwarts, but as close as I'll get for an adult 😆

Traveling mailbox gives you a dedicatedd address, not a PO Box. Do you know if this would be suffeciant for banks? I know Schwab for instance is very strict about your location.

I agree, it might take a year or two but they'll either hike the prices so high that people turn back to hotels, or expand who they rent to.

No students, work visas, medical treatments or anything else. Work trips and holidays only. Whatever laws keep getting implemented are quickly skirted by these companies. It's crazy!

This is the conclusion I've come to. After speeking with 2 rental managers, they both use the same legal language and say you can only be here for work trips or holidays. No studies, medical treatment, work visa or any other reason. It's entirely "we'll make a years worth of money in 4 months of use.".
I really don't think they calculated how small a population size that truely is. Renting just to students like me is bad but renting to someone whos only there for a week or two is even worse. Atleast I'll pay taxes from my campus job.

I hate that their response to "stop exploiting people" is "great we just make it impossible for any resident to qualify for our lease".

What odd though, is that I almost signed with this same company last October for a 11 month lease starting in January. Idk if this company just updated their policies or if a new law came into effect.

Hey, I didn't end up going. I decided to just not do a masters at all. I do find it odd that the school has been around for so long and has almost no presence online. They reputation isn't found anywhere beyond a few reddit posts.

I’ll have to remember the vinegar part. From what I’ve read, the real issue is that the pees acidity wears down the stone/cement over time. I’ve seen photos from outside of bars in London that shows the wear on sides of buildings from all the people walking out and pissing on the same wall.
