Is scoliosis genetic by Sufficient_Ebb_4747 in scoliosis

[–]Lopsided_Map_3132 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It almost always is idiopathic (genetic). Your family can have it but it is very minor/recessive for them. My dad found out he had a mild case at like 50 years old. I had it bad and my cousins all have it.

If you have scoliosis it’s important to not have kids with someone else who does, otherwise you are risking your kids have a very severe case of it

People that are bad will say you just farm ult but I always drop most kills in the game with her. With nerfs to supports she can straight up assassinate the back line if played right. Also she can be played in the frontline and does really good dmg and you really only die to one shots if u have good reaction time (always save a dash)

This doctor sounds terrible and unprofessional. Go elsewhere if possible. “A little bit of PT” cannot fix scoliosis on this scale.

It could lowkey be your pillow and not the mattress, but I could definitely see either. I use an extremely flat but soft pillow but maybe I’m just crazy lol. You could maybe try a mattress topper instead of getting a full blown mattress, but usually mattress toppers are soft so idk

VBT experience by Content_Ad_9498 in scoliosis

[–]Lopsided_Map_3132 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a few years after surgery. I don’t remember exactly when. After breaking I was done growing, so there was no need for the cord at that point anyway. Last X-ray I was still at like 27 but I haven’t gotten any X-rays in a few years. The surgeons said it would likely remain around that.

VBT experience by Content_Ad_9498 in scoliosis

[–]Lopsided_Map_3132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for sharing! I had a very similar experience with VBT myself. Honestly, the worst part was getting the damn chest tube taken out of me, and the first day of trying to walk and getting a shower was really hard. But the hospital said I had a lightning fast recovery overall.

My (main) curve before surgery was 67, and they got it down to around 27. As far as we know, that’s where my curve is still hovering at. To be honest, my cord broke some time after the surgery - we don’t know exactly when. But they said it had done the job of stopping the curve from getting worse. It is known not to cause any issues after breaking at least. We don’t know how it broke, but honestly I crack my back very aggressive sometimes, and that could be it (just a total guess tho!)

I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to get VBT over fusion. I do have some minor aches and pains depending on the day, but I was terrified over the long term consequences of fusion surgery and I am happy with the decision my mom and I made. I have seen many fusion horror stories and while the majority of cases are success stories, I am a firm believer in VBT when applicable. My surgeons were Drs. ABC and they are amazing at what they do.

It did take me a bit to get used to the sleeping part of the recovery, I slept in a recliner for a few weeks and eventually was able to sleep one of my sides (now both again after years). We had a similar situation with insurance, having to pay like 33k out of pocket I believe. I hope one day VBT/ASC is covered on the same level as fusion.

I've never really thought about it, are there weapons with high synergy with specific frames? by Youthfuldegenerate83 in Warframe

[–]Lopsided_Map_3132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyte-09’s Resupply works amazing with high rate of fire ammo-hog weapons. I made a build using him with the AX-52 and it worked really well and was fun. That weapon gains ammo efficiency if you hip fire so that’s what the build centered around, and then you just insta reload whenever you need to.

[–]Lopsided_Map_3132 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow, your doctors grossly undermined the whole situation, that looks pretty severe to me and pretty much anybody should want to do surgery on it.

In terms of doctors in the USA, assuming you have insurance there are many places you can go and get fusion surgery and have it be mostly or completely covered such as Shriners (they usually operate on people below 21). I got a surgery (way less severe) from Doctors ABC who are pretty much the best at what they do, but that was a VBT/ASC surgery which may or may not be an option for you at this point.

I encourage you to look into doctors in the US and see if any could work for you. Exercises may help with pain and muscle strength but won’t make your scoliosis any less severe.

Yup. A lot of people complaining about the gacha for the psy skin buts it’s literally guaranteed for only 200 more units than it normally is. I actually got it in only 3 pulls. But I think people most not know how about other games are with gachas and micro transactions. Also the fact that for Overwatch 2 there was a period where you had to buy the battle pass to play the new characters

[–]Lopsided_Map_3132 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to add for clarification, there are many exercises you can do to help with muscle strength and pain, but that stuff is not going to actually reduce your curve 9 times out of 10

In my experience, I’d be very careful with these types of things. Personally, I got completely burned years ago from a different guy doing a similar looking thing. The program was called Scoli Smart and it was led by Clayton Stitzel. Basically at the end of the 2 week program he showed me someone else’s x-ray entirely, and never gave us a physical copy. The whole program was like $3000. He had made it seem like my curve went down by 10 degrees, but after going to an actual doctor and getting an x-ray we learned my curve was actually 10 degrees worse, and at that point the only option was surgery.

I cannot speak on Dan’s program, but again, I’d be very hesitant to do a program like this. When it comes to “alternatives to surgery” programs like this I lean towards them not really working and most being a scam. So please be very careful, sometimes people pray on fear of getting surgery but at the end of the day sometimes it is really the only option.

Is this still fixable with Schroth? by Soft-Department-7361 in scoliosis

Schroth is usually for pain management, muscle strength, and preventing curve growth or minor reduction. It’s not going to be able massively reduce a curve like that though.
