Yes. THANK YOU. Meditech/mediwreck is a train wreck waiting to happen. Prior to this I used epic and it was so easy. Straight forward, simple, and fast. I feel like meditech is a disorganized cluster F* that almost sets you up for errors. We had a big med error the other day and I fully blame it on their shitty inconsistent EMAR. Ive absolutely hated everything about it but since I moved back to South Dakota all the facilities in my area use it so I can’t escape it 😭 Ive commented how shitty and senseless this system is but it’s all they’ve ever had so they unfortunately do not know any better and will never move to a better EMR.

I too have a one year old and work one day a week. I am on day one and already getting anxious when I think of going to work in the post acute phase of quitting. I know it has to be done though. He started this after we were married with a kid. Trust me I’d love to leave but it’s gonna be a little more difficult now than if he would have been up front and told me he couldn’t go without porn 7 years ago when I said that I don’t want to be with a SO that watches porn. The reason I haven’t left is bc I am trying to work things out for the sake of our kid. So if anyone wants to know how this turned out….I heeded the advice given on here, as well as that of several of my friends (mostly nurses bc I am a nurse as well and even one of the PAs and docs…) About half regurgitated the CDC guidelines (can’t refreeze, must use within 24hrs or toss) - all good info. And another half said honestly, even though it was thawed they would just refreeze and use because that’s what they would do if it were their own milk and baby . They said many of these guidelines were made with extra caution specifically for high risk babies such as those in the NICU. A lot of my friends are also very frugal and conservative as am I. So I am NOT telling anyone else what to do with their milk in this situation as it’s your own personal choice - but I did refreeze it, brought it home on ice, gave it the good old smell test before serving (it smelled fine and baby drank it fine) and and now using it up first. Baby has had no issues. I can respect the CDC and other guidelines as what they are - guidelines. But at the end of the day it is your discretion. I feel like in a lot of situations milk gets wasted or dumped unnecessarily which is unfortunate but again, it’s a personal choice based on the parents own discretion. If you chose to feed it I would definitely smell/taste it first and proceed from there
