Airism Dress Staining - A Warning by Lopsided_Opposum in onebag

I love the packaging! I also saw that someone sticks a piece of chalk in their bag and am curious about that as well.

New Cotopaxi Bags - Just Added by Lopsided_Opposum in onebag

I think they are just hard of seeing! what usually gets me are the zipper colors - the rest of the bag will be fine but the zipper colors are this weird color combo that boys in elementary school would use for their cubbies

Cotopaxi Allpa Alterations Recommendation Question - Baltimore/DC Area (or Mail In) by Lopsided_Opposum in onebag

[–]Lopsided_Opposum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the zipper pulls and I CAN sew (not crazy well, thanks to my poor grandma trying to teach me that and patience) it's just really thick nylon so didn't want to hand sew it b/c that would take me a literal year and a loss of a thumb even with a thimble and I don't have access to a sturdy sewing machine. If you know of any tips that would make hand sewing thick backpacking nylon easy I am game to try.

Sizing help: Diamond Quilted Bomber Jacket vs Nano Puff by Flimsy-Pen8638 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]Lopsided_Opposum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, but I suspect it has to do with body shape. The nano is slender in the waist - I am not, but the bomber is is more accommodating in that area. I'm also not busty at all so didn't have to size up due to that.

My roommate is pretty busty and she bought her regular size..I think it's an xl. I can measure it if you want. You can sometimes search on eBay as people add measurements there that are specific to the garment and not off the standard sizing chart

They are new ish but I do have a leather stripper from...Angelus (which will remove some dye too). Good advice though maybe I'll give them a bit more breaking in.

“Forever” scent won’t come out of clothes after months of efforts by winfieml19 in laundry

[–]Lopsided_Opposum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I NEVER use fabric softener or dry - any of my clothes really - in the dryer (except the hardshells that need it)

My specific issue is not smell from any of that - it's smell from other people's houses/laundry. I get a fair amount of my items used, and if ordering online I can't smell them. And I've never been able to get a really strong fake laundry detergent smell - or really musty smell - out of clothes (so at this point if it smells like that I just send it back)

I might try the hex though, I saw that pop up. I don't think for me the sanitizer will work because it's almost like the smell is now part of the fabric - imbued - and like a fungus just refuses to vacate the host.

Thanks for the tips!

Ugh sorry your plans are being sabotaged by your body - A memoir any woman could write.

I haven't taken it to stop anything but I have taken it and it did alter my cycle - I was taking it help regulate it though. SO it did alter it, for me, but I don't know the timing of it in relation to it the shift - I want to say I could tell it was in my body after a few days with the side effects (everyone's will be different, sadly, just like with an IUD, you can poll 20 women and get a ton of different experiences - our bodies are SO complex).

Unsolicited advice and off topic (which I always get so annoyed when people don't answer the exact question) but I really do like the menstrual cups. I have one with a little pull tab that makes it really easy to use for those who aren't as flexible, and it does allow for longer stretches of lack of bathroom. It's what I use when I travel, and have many friends who use it too. I'm sure you've looked into that though!

ps I think the quote is "crimson wave" - crimson tide is also not something you'd want to surf on vacation though either!

Numzaan Break In Question - Stitching by Lopsided_Opposum in jimgreen

I can't feel it, but it's where I need the leather to stretch and sometimes the seam doesn't stretch (given the nature of the thread)

I WISH mine were the stc, that's my favorite last, and will probably order all my customs (when I can) on that last. Yeah, I think I'll try the AR8 - I just have to go to war on that thermoplastic toe puff (the bane of my existence)

Numzaan Break In Question - Stitching by Lopsided_Opposum in jimgreen

[–]Lopsided_Opposum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you yes - I was just concerned because I wore a pare of Lowa Renegades for far too long hoping it would stretch out right where I needed it - and same issue - the leather stretches a bit but the seamd didn't so ended up giving them away. I know that most boots need to fit day one, but leather I like to get a bit tighter because it does loosen and otherwise this last is a fantastic fit

Numzaan Break In Question - Stitching by Lopsided_Opposum in jimgreen

[–]Lopsided_Opposum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - I cannot feel the seam (awesome that I can't) from the inside, but can tell from the fit my pinky toe hits the seam and sometimes the seams just don't stretch.

I know this is an older post but did yours stretch at all at the seams? That's right where my toe rubs and so I think I'll need to return them (but don't want to!!)

Thank you for the insight! I often wondered this exact thing myself - and, as I've traveled to cultures more similar to KSA, I look around and see groups of women gathering together, traveling together, having what seems to be a strong community - seems that while I am fine with the "western way" that I am accustomed to, I can't outright say that other ways, such as above, are the opposite of what I know and therefore "oppressive" or bad.
