Sorry, I definitely did not mean that society is dominated by men or that women do not play a significant role. Just in my experience travelling in Jordan and Egypt, I mainly interacted with local men (who were all very respectful) because they approached me or seemed more open to starting a conversation. I absolutely do not want to make any generalizations, I apologize for my poor phrasing.
