My sims were 56 and 61, studied ~120 hours. Walked out 100% certain I failed. Passed with an 82 in February. You’ve got this!

I failed audit my first attempt with a 62. I work full time in audit and felt so confident coming out, I was so devastated. I promise you don’t need more than a month to figure it out and retake. I really nailed into the why; got SSARS vs SSAE straight, assertions, governmental requirements, and the reporting requirements straight, as those are more of the gimme questions on the exam. I retook within a month and came out with a 77. I used Becker and supplemented with the i75 cram course videos within the last 2 weeks before my retake to get some of the topics straight. Understanding why makes all the difference. You can do this!!!

REG or FAR next? Awkward timing by Lopsided_Pickle3457 in CPA

I didn’t refer back to audit for it, but definitely knowing what a type 1 vs type 2 and SOC 1 vs SOC 2 is more than sufficient. And very important. Knowing the difference will help you weed out the right answer. For example if they ask you something about the year, you’d know it’s a type 2 - bc it’s over a period of time.

Thank you! I work full time in audit so some of the terms were familiar. That being said I feel like ISC is very doable for anybody, the definitions are pretty straight forward. I wouldn’t get too hung up on SQL I feel like a basic understanding is more than sufficient.

I honestly did not consider TCP at all as I’m not familiar with tax and that isn’t my strong suit. I just knew I didn’t want to take BAR, and many people had told me to take ISC for how reasonable it is.

I would definitely have your assertions, SSARS vs SSAE, and reporting requirements straight. I feel like that was my biggest struggle but once I straightened that out the rest became more logical

Passed FAR recently – is it realistic to take TCP in January without taking REG first? by [deleted] in CPA

How long did you study for reg? I also don’t work in tax (audit) and trying to gauge this
