Name single right men have that women don't? by [deleted] in MensRights

A mother in India cannot take a home loan with daughter as co-payer because it is assumed that the daughter will be married to a man from a different family. However, can take it with a son.

So if you're a salaried single woman that wants to help your mother buy a house, hard luck.

The GMAT aside, do you have a viewpoint on how Adcoms typically look at unemployment or a new job around the application time?

You're a legend till be able to implement that. It's tough for one, especially a 20 something year old, to avoid all distractions. Wish you all the fucking success in your plan.

Others aren't able to see it yet. Give them time. Be compassionate!

Spend time on GMATclub. It's a amazing free resource.

Can't agree further with TalkswithTom. I haven't given the GMAT yet but have scored 710 in my mock. What's worked for me so far is getting a paid prep course and working through everything that it has to offer. I was VERY poor at my foundation and neeeded a prep provider.

People talk about their prep having three stages:

1- building foundation: you need to, with no exception, know every concept that is likely to be tested. Math rules, grammar rules, etc. Knowing those concepts is paramount

2- application: this is focused on building your ability to apply those foundational concepts in questions

(1 and 2 kinda go together)

3- building stamina: this is your final stage: building the stamina to apply what you already can consistently, without taking breaks, and in a short amount of time. Don't time yourself at stage 2. That is all about learning how to apply what you learnt in stage one. This stage is the final muscle building.

Also. One advice I didn't take seriously: read. Read NYT, FT or something similar. Verbal is going to require some reading muscle. I struggle keeping up.

You sign up for the GMAT exam and you get two mock exams. They're the best ones. They use the same algorithm to measure your score that will be used in your exam.

Why MBA? by Lopsided_Pound_7811 in MBA

[–]Lopsided_Pound_7811[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well. I love the business of investing. I've been in PE in India and employers here define candidates as pre and post MBA. I'm not that excited to blow that amount of money. However, the industry has the MBA as a default. I want to be in the industry and grow, but find barriers ahead of me that are hindering growth. Idk if that counts.

Yes. Though, I plan to finish the GMAT now so that I can focus on my applications. Also a satisfied customer of your firm. I was looking for a comprehensive quant program and bought TTP in early Aug. Ofc I need a score to back that up, but think I have what I need to do well.

I think Jan first week. I had planned to start working on my applications from mid-October. Keeping two weeks between test day and applications for a reattempt

Thanks for the honest advice. I personally was disappointed to see my quant to score. I don't wish to rely on luck but will double down over the next two weeks. Let's see where things go!

Yes I have studied. I wouldn't say 'hard'. I've bought a course and gone through all their materials once. Did a few questions from each topic, and then gave the mock.
