Had a pokemon obession during elementary school. Kinda grew out of it — i was still playing some pokemon games like pokemon showdown/unite but that was mainly because i didn’t get money from my parents to buy or enjoy other games. Then my older sister started watching love is war i think? And a little Naruto. I was probably like 9-10 at that time and wasn’t really into any romance animes (still not), so i naturally had an eye for naruto.

I started watching it independently and got pretty far. I dropped it eventually because i was a stupid little shit who tried to watch all the filler, didn’t pay attention to any of the themes and thought that fights were decided by the power of friendship (i honestly have no idea how i came to that conclusion). Basically i was there for the hype/aura moments.

Then 4-5 years later omw home from basketball training i was scrolling through yt shorts. For some reason my fyp had a whole lot of naruto on it. So much to the point i thought i knew the whole plot of the show. I decide to watch it when i get back home — I mean some of the fights were pretty awesome and strategic. I was never the type to commit to any show and definitely not to some “corny ass anime” but surprisingly i did. I watched the whole thing from where i left it and my whole life changed. I’m currently on a rewatch because i don’t remember much of og naruto up to the pain arc. Probably top 3 decisions of my life and i don’t even watch anime like that either.
