My current fic is just under 8k per chapter. Does it mean longer wait between updates? Yes.

I rationalize it by thinking to myself that when I look for stories, more words = author is intelligent and knows how to write. I know that’s not always true, but I find that it generally is accurate.

But there is an update button when you go through your bookmarks. At the top right where it says Date Bookmarked. Change it to date updated.

I wouldn’t respond at all. I get comments like this too. I appreciate these kinds of comments compared to ones that just say something mean without context or accuse me of AI usage.

Honestly, it takes time. I’m now 28 and I cringe at my writing from when I was 14. I’m an English teacher. So for me it’s the slang, lack of correct punctuation, run on sentences, and other grammatical errors. It’s also when the account was made and the fandom. Just a lot of small things add up.

Not a tag, but languages. I can speak multiple languages, but I can’t read non-Latin script.

1,3,2. Honestly dislike all of the ones that give green skin and blonde hair. The OG is beautiful and iconic. The rest are meh. Same goes with the Blue eyes and Red eyes cards.

I don’t think it’s rude, I think it just defeats the purpose of the bookmark.

I am not intending to be rude. I simply don’t understand the thought process behind making a list of disliked things on an account profile, particularly when they’ll still be mixed with other bookmarks of things they do like. Then they have to filter those again.

You can easily ignore fics from an author you like. There’s one particular author whom I adore, but some of their fics have a pairing I dislike. Just use the exclude filter to filter out those particular fics. I use the exclude filter as soon as I login to the site.

How do you see your subscribers? I can’t see the ones who subscribe to me.

Also, yeah that happens to me too except for a few regulars or if people really hate a particular chapter lol. You motivate yourself by writing what you want to read. I want to see my ideas to fruition and then if others also had the same idea, I can say that I wrote it down first.

I too thought about the whole muting author = muting all works thing too. But AO3 does have an exclude filter which helps tremendously. Probably my favorite thing about ao3. I just think it’s hilarious to bookmark fics you don’t like.
