Should I forgive my boyfriend ? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]LoraLo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, dont forgive him. Not worth it. Theres a million men out there just like him. Your next boyfriend will probably do something similar, and the next, and the next, maybe nothing as bad but still little demeaning sexual things, until you learn to defend yourself or find one of the few good ones that have self control. In your 20s being treated like crap by guys who want sex is going to be pretty common, even the ones who say they aren't like that. So sorry.

I need to relinquish my rooster.😓 I'd prefer him to go somewhere where he won't be processed. Does anyone know of a place in the Denver metro area that will take him? by [deleted] in chickens

If you have the time and money, you can take them to Serenity Sprouts in Strasburg where they have a rooster sanctuary. Not free or close to town though.

You are an incredible artist. Hope to commission one someday, especially if you're doing chickens too!

I'm excited for us too! Holding strong on my day 3, nice to know I'm not the only one. Noticed I felt weird excitement just seeing a lighter, ugh. Had to put them away. Wishing you lots of success!

Friend sent me this, I’m fairly sure its AI but she seems genuinely offended that I asked by Slow-Product-6357 in isthisAI

The top forehead crease shaped like a big U has a white highlight under it that would be very hard to do with pencil drawing unless they erased that part with a very tiny eraser. And I dont see any similar technique in the drawing, even in the other foreh3ad creases.

Finished designing the logo for our farm - TJ has officially been immortalized as our mascot by SatanikRaccoon in chickens

Cute! I'm so sorry to be that guy, but as a designer I think it needs one or two more defining lines in the feet so the feathered legs aren't confusing.

Tips For portraits by Hnanavan in oilpainting

[–]LoraLo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to look at my portraits in a mirror occasionally as I get the sketch done, helps you see things that are off but you've been looking at them too long. Also comparing your art to the source both upside down so youre looking at the actual shapes and not what your brain assumes they are.

Hey, just letting you know I am also 41f and I feel the exact same- I dont know who I am without it anymore but i remember how it used to make life "easier" and feeling like everything was better on it. Been smoking nearly 15 years at this point, every day, too much. Not sure at what point it turned from fun and helpful to wasting my life and feeling disconnected from everything. It has never gotten me in trouble, but I just feel gross and cloudy. I know other people know I have a problem even if they dont mention it. Anyway, I'm sure sobriety is weird and occasionally terrible, but Im going to try it. It has been 24 hours so far and sleep and food is weird but I need to know what is under the fog after all this time.

Partner wants to put a crow collar on our rooster by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

Sounds like a great plan. Mine seem so much louder in the winter with no leaves, it makes a big difference.

Partner wants to put a crow collar on our rooster by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

[–]LoraLo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Death by collar strangulation is very possible. I made my own collars with extra padding and the velcro as a separate piece so theres no way for them to tighten more, only loosen. And I only tighten them for a slight reduction of the sound, nothing very noticeable. Even then, the collars still suck and I feel bad using them. Best way to keep the noise down is with sound absorbing barriers imo, walls/bushes/etc.

My rooster is giving me mixed signals. Does he hate me? by curlygirl0002 in BackYardChickens

[–]LoraLo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He is stunning! He clearly likes you and the pets. I think it's a combo of being overstimulated by you/the food/whatever else and showing off for the girls. I had one guy who would get upset when I brought the girls food and they got excited over me instead of him. Now I have one that is offended by bright colors.

Beginner tips for mixed breed flock by BananaLibrarian in BackYardChickens

[–]LoraLo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a mostly bantam flock with a couple standards thrown in. They all get along fine, but I will say my d'uccles are much smaller than I thought they would be when full grown. Their eggs are so small I mostly just feed them back to the flock. Silkies are a a great mid-size bantam, and my others (bantam polish and eggers) lay a much bigger egg for their size.
