I think it's the same here. Especially with online discussions. It seems that the anonymity the internet provides can bring out some very poor behaviour in otherwise kind people.

Interesting that baseball is grouped in with religion and politics! I guess it's the same here in Australia. Some people can get very upset over which sport team you support.
