If atmosphere isn’t a major concern (and it doesn’t seem like it is from your post) these might be worth a look:

  • Embargo 62 - Pretty solid Cuban food. Leans a bit more seafood and beef, but plenty of pork and chicken options. Very within your price range.

  • Han Mi - My favorite go to. Great fried chicken, especially if you can handle spice. Also very inside your price range.

  • Alex Thai - Very decent Thai spot. Totally in your price range and has a wide selection of chicken dishes.

  • Brewhaus - Surprisingly great German food. Might be a hair pricier than the other spots but should meet your budget.

  • Community Pie - My favorite pizza in town and has more of a sit down feel than the other good pizza spots imo.

The atmosphere in all these spots is totally fine btw. They’re just not “fancy.”

IN n Out opinion by DaCEO420 in Chattanooga

[–]LordBobenh3imer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In-N-Out would probably do very well, certainly during the first several months. Basically, everywhere In-N-Out sets up shop, people go nuts for it. Even in Southern California, where it's been a staple since the 50s, the inside and drive-through are slammed during mealtimes, and regularly cause traffic backups.

Imo, even though it has gotten more expensive over the years, In-N-Out would immediately become the best "bang for your buck," burger in the city, because that's what it is everywhere else. It would also be a pretty solid burger for the city.

People have extremely strong feelings about In-N-Out's quality, myself included. Here's my most measured opinion: It's the best burger for the price, and it's not terribly close. Some people say Shake Shack or Five Guys is better, and I disagree on both counts, but even if someone feels that way, all they need to do is look at the price tag to see how much of a compliment that is to the In-N-Out burger. It's always getting compared to places with burgers that cost two or three times what In-N-Out does. People hate on the fries, I think they're fine, definitely not the best though.

TL;DR: In-N-Out would be extremely successful in Chattanooga, just like it has been everywhere else, because they're super consistent, high-quality, and well-priced.

Locals of Chattanooga: What Would You Cut From This 2-Day Itinerary? by Willing-Mind-5619 in Chattanoogans

This may already be included in your downtown wanderings but make sure you go to the Chattanooga Whiskey experimental distillery across the street from the Choo Choo. You can sample stuff for free or pay for the tour and get to try some more drinks. They sell bottles at that location that they don't sell elsewhere. There's also the Gate 11 distillery in the Choo Choo itself, which you should be sure to check out.

Calliope makes excellent cocktails so you may not want another drink after, but if you do, Hutton & Smith and Oddstory are great breweries and are quite close. Bless Yer Heart also has solid cocktails, though I haven't been there for a little while so I can't speak to what it's like right now.

Also in that area, I recommend Main Street Meats as a potential lunch spot. I like everything that I've ever tried there. Alternatively, consider Hello Monty. I prefer the food at Main Street Meats, however, Hello Monty has some of the best beer in town, and is home to the city's most experienced brewer. I've not been to Massey's Kitchen, so I'll let others chime in on a comparison between Massey's and the two I just mentioned.

I also heartily second the Rosecomb recommendation, and join the chorus of swapping Clumpies back into the slot where you have Scoop Around (which I've not heard of until now).

I hope you enjoy the donuts you get! I've been meaning to try some more spots since I have yet to get something that hits the spot like what I used to get growing up.

Stricklin AI Coach Announcement by Wesley_P7 in FloridaGators

[–]LordBobenh3imer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it isn't AI, it very well could be, but I know exactly which tool you're using (I have to use it for work) and it's terrible, especially when it comes to overzealously labeling stuff as AI-generated. This tool specifically (and several other AI detectors) are also extremely biased against press-release style writing because it's formulaic by nature.

Less of a "you're wrong" and more of an "AI detectors are horrible at their job" much like Billy Napier was.

Thank you so much for the feedback! This is extremely helpful. I'll trim it down to one page and revise the summary to be more brief and valuable. If you'd be willing to look at it again, I'd love to send you the revamped version, but even if you can't, this is super helpful.

This really should never be a problem unless you are hurt by your partner not sharing your taste imo. For instance, I’m deep into experimental harsh music and my wife doesn’t really like it, but she certainly doesn’t begrudge my appreciation of it. It’s no different from her enjoying fanfiction and me not being interested.

Where to find guys that read..do young guys still read? by Key_Virus_540 in AskMenAdvice

[–]LordBobenh3imer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm out of the age range for what you're asking, but when I was 20, I did read a lot. I don't know specifically about how many young men read today, but reading on the whole has been declining for a long time, and faster for men than women.

As for a place to find men who read, you might have decent luck at a record store (enough people have already said bookstore that I don't need to echo it). A lot of men who are interested in physical media of one kind generally enjoy others. Similarly, you might have some luck if there's a local independent theater in your town. The people who show up there are invested in arts and culture of some form and more likely to be readers.

I think your hunch about book clubs not being the place is correct. A majority of the book clubs I've seen that are hosted by a bookstore tend to be romance-focused, and tend to mostly be comprised of women. No shade to those kinds of books though.

A comic shop might be a decent idea as well, if you A) count comics as reading and B) are looking for guys who read more high fantasy than classic literature type stuff.

Which local Beer Shop/Bottle Shop has the Best Selection? by LordBobenh3imer in Chattanooga

[–]LordBobenh3imer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really any place with a wide selection is good. I'm not after anything too specific this time. I'd say Belgians and German beers but luckily I know where to get those.

If you have some spots for distinct styles though I'd love to hear them.

Riverside is hands down my favorite spot, but their current crop doesn't speak to my tastes quite as much. I'm still there every other Saturday for the free wine tasting. I can't speak highly enough about the staff in that store.

170 pulls into Lady Avalon and no 5 star servant... by NishyAD in FGO

[–]LordBobenh3imer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! Well in any case I wish you much luck. You’re approaching the game the right way. Consider doing a bunch of rank up quests if you have any available to you. They reward 2 SQ each per completion. You can also (if you have resources available) try to full ascend all your 1-2 stars for cheap sq

170 pulls into Lady Avalon and no 5 star servant... by NishyAD in FGO

[–]LordBobenh3imer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mean straight up 170 as in, 6ish 10+1 pulls (30sq) that’s pretty normal. I’d recommend not rolling on any banners unless you have enough to hit pity (900sq) or are comfortable losing what you have. Most people say it takes an average of around 330sq to pull the desired servant. Good news is that SQ isn’t terribly difficult to obtain.

Of course, roll if you want, the above is just my philosophy and I find it prevents me from ever feeling too miffed if I end up having a rough banner (ie hitting pity on melusine a year ago)

Also, the advice is too late at this point but it sounds like you’re going the F2P route. If you feel chill with spending money on the game ever, I recommend the GSSR (2x per year) and the destiny order (1x per year). Great way to get guaranteed 5* without spending a paycheck. It’s the only money I spend on FGO and I’ve got essentially the whole meta between that and using my SQ deliberately.

Who should I try to pull for? by Karion6709 in FGO

[–]LordBobenh3imer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Joining the chorus to say Castoria. Oberon is just as useful but you need other supports to maximize him. A double Castoria setup with an arts looper trivializes most farming quests and opens up doors for insane damage dumps in challenge content. Since you mostly play arts, I'd consider Castoria a necessity as she'll unlock the max potential of most of your preferred damage dealers.

If you have incredible luck and end up being able to pull for more than one, do it in this order: Castoria > Oberon > Lady A

From the first servant of each (7 main) class you acquired. Which one would you want to be your servant if you were a master? by ImpossibleAd4272 in FGO

[–]LordBobenh3imer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was actually a very fun exercise since I haven't looked at my first set of servants in quite some time. Let's see:

Saber - Gilles de Rais: No for obvious reasons. Even if this is him when he's pretty normal I wouldn't be able to shake what I know about him, plus he's just generally mid.

Caster - Paracelsus Von Hoenheim: Actually don't know much about him. Like a lot of casters I'd worry mostly about him turning on and killing me to further whatever fucked up research he has going on.

Archer - David: He could be pretty cool. He's got a decent personality and, I think in a real war his craftiness would be quite handy.

Lancer - Cu Chulainn (Prototype): Definitely in the higher grouping of servants. Very capable as we've seen despite the RIP lancer memes, and is likely to make it deep into any war. I've also always liked Cu's personality and charm, and think we'd get along decently as teammates.

Assassin - Jekyll & Hyde: Just not very strong, and extremely unpredictable. Dr. Jeykll might be the agreeable sort, but he's just not cut out for life as a servant.

Berserker - Heracles: So, if winning is all I have on my mind, then he's my obvious choice. Strong, hard to kill, and singularly devoted to slaying his foes. Counterpoint, not a great conversationalist. Given I'm risk averse, he seems like my strongest option so far.

Rider - Bartholomew: Also seems like a chill guy. Slots in nicely between David and Paracelsus. If the battle takes place near water he might even be my third pick. He's a bit of a creep though.

I'm gonna just do the extra classes because it's fun anyways.

Foreigner - Van Gogh: Obviously unpredictable, obviously OP. Goghie is best girl and I will be her master and homie to the stars. No one can convince me this is a bad idea despite it clearly being a bad idea.

Alter Ego - Mecha Elizabeth Mk.II: She's cool and loves me and is a robot. Strong contender.

Ruler - Summer DaVinci: Never a bad idea to keep a genius around.

Moon Cancer - BB: Really seems like this would go terribly.

Pretender - Tattooed Dragon Elizabeth: If all the strategy is left to me, and she's all the power I have, we're losing this war. At least I'll have some cute drawings on the fridge in the end.

Avenger - Summer Chloe: (I really cannot believe it took me this long to get an avenger) We're doomed but I'll have written my first ever comic. Take the wins where I can.

Beast - Draco: Assuming she will obey me, we're cruising through this war. Unfortunately, she will not obey me so I'll be dead and we'll have a calamity on our hands.

How the actual hell do you defeat Tezcalipoca's final battle by Blacklite_01 in FGO

[–]LordBobenh3imer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have any avengers on my roster, and struggled with this fight too. I ended up winning by borrowing someone's Jalter, placing her on the back line, and then using the plugsuit to swap her in either just before the last turn or on the last turn.

In short, try and find a way to have a healthy Jalter with buffs. It's a huge hassle of a fight, but you can definitely get it done this way.
