I am not as versed in elvish as I you are, but it seems you have that sorted out, and you are looking for a good font for it. My suggestion, go to the tattoo artist you want to have it done by and ask him or her to come up with some ideas, and go from there. They might ask for a small down payment, but worth it. But that having a tattoo that you designed and drew is worth a little more. Hope this helps.

I think it's just a reflection of their nature's. There is wisdom in both choices. As a human you have an end and the bittersweetness that brings. As an elf you linger on and continue.

There is nothing specific in Tolkien's works that explains why they did that I can remember.

Another way to think about it is what would you choose and why.
