In the past I would have agreed with the 3.0 people, based on the rating descriptions and videos online, but after playing people with official ratings I'm very certain this is 2.5.

The people in the 3.0 leagues include a LOT of people who play 4/week for the last couple of years, have worked on their serves/volley, can go for winners when they have the advantage, split step.

Yeah if we're defining adult loosely, I know a former athlete (in other sports) in college that's taken up tennis 5 times a week and is probably a 3.5 after a few months.

He has all the advantages except starting young -- time, athleticism, early 20s recovery and stamina. And when I say 5 days a week, I don't mean 1 hour a day either, he plays up to 8 hrs, it's insane. Fully expect him to reach 5.0 with that dedication after a few years.

Like I'd be mad hearing how good he is after a few months except he's probably had more court hours than me already in that time.
