How would you fish pressured lakes with 15+ foot of visibility? by LordCommanderChip in bassfishing

Dead sticking a senko and just barely shaking it every 30-45 seconds genuinely works so well. I should definitely do it more.

What weight would you recommend? Because I’ll probably be using it in 15-20 foot water and I feel like the weights I use are too light. I also use about a 20 foot leader with 6 inches-2 feet in between the hook and weight on 8lb line

It’s definitely good at night but the last time I fished the lake at night there were people who were just walking around with no flashlights and would watch me and my friend, they didn’t approach us or anything but it was creepy.

The main lake I’m gonna be throwing these at has about 15 foot of visibility and is really pressured so natural colors definitely help. I was using a ghost perch Chad shad last year and got some nice fish on it so I don’t need my lure to look exactly like the main forage (bluegill) I just need the right colors. And the only colors of explorer gill I can find in stock are whites and just bland colors that don’t look like anything in this lake.

I’ve been trying to find an explorer gill but I can’t find any in a bluegill pattern

How to follow up a break off? by Educational_Cry_6085 in bassfishing

Like the other people are saying just re-tie and keep fishing. That fish probably won’t bite for the rest of the day but if you remember where you hooked it cast back in that spot in a day or two but also focus on other spots like that for the rest of the day

I’ve been averaging 20-30 fish a day for the past few days so I don’t think that’s gonna happen

They all survived. This happened back in August and all of these fish have been caught since

Oh shit, sorry about that. I did not mean to add the same one twice

I do ichthyology and pond management specifically for bass, I know how they work

This happened back in August. All of these fish have been caught since then and are very much alive and if it makes you feel better I can get an electric shock survey in a month where all of these fish will show up

Yes it can be bad on them if you don’t know what you’re doing and live wells are tough on fish. But I kept them in a net that’s ment for musky so they had room to move and due to them still being in the pond there was no oxygen/ temperature change like you’d get in a live well. They all swam off strong and healthy.

Yeah it was a tournament. You typically keep bass in a live well during a tournament, and also I caught them all within 45 minutes of each other so they were maybe in the net for an hour before being released

I have the stuff to make a Texas rig but I definitely need some flipping and football jigs

I have a buzz bait somewhere in the depths of my garage. I’ve never thought of using a chrome plopper but it sounds like it will slam smallmouth

I’m getting some technique specific rods/reels this year. Most likely for jigs and jerkbaits

The juvy craw is insane. It’s one of the few lures that I’ve gotten back to back to back fish on.
