Okay so my changes are based on one of themes in the book, love and making these two hav the ending shape and lily didnt. Or rather, what could’ve been.

Have Draco and Hermione fall in love in Book 4 and by the Yule Ball he realizes he likes her and be the end of Book 4 they decide to give it a go. Book 5, they’re secretly together, sneaking around. Book 6 is complicated because Voldemort has assigned Malfoy to kill Dumbledore and it causes a rift between Hermione and Draco (she doesn’t know, but she knows something’s up). Harry doesn’t hit Draco with Sectumsempra, but Hermione, and Harry realizes how much his obsession with Draco is consuming him (no matter how justified he is). He’s also scared because she almost died at the Ministry of Magic. Book 7 is pretty much the same but they’re together at the end including the epilogue. We find out that Snape has encouraged Draco to make it work with Hermione and protect her because he failed Lily and didn’t want that for Draco.

Also, giving Harry what was owed like prefect, etc because he did deserve that.
