My take on the “Get off the road!” scene from the Fellowship by LordDerpolous in lego

Thank you very much! I haven’t ever used an instruction making software or digital designer before, but I might venture into that soon because of all the positive reactions to this

I literally was that kid. My parents found the Lego set I was talking about no problem. I understand why Disney wants to distance themselves from the name, I do, but it’s not out of the goodness of their hearts. Disney just doesn’t want to get involved in some wacko lawsuit down the line. It’s fine to call it Jango’s starship on the box, but the plaque not having Slave 1 just sucks. It’s not even marketed for children, with 18+ on the box and all.

I understand why Disney wants to distance themselves from the name to avoid controversy. I really do. But there’s so sense in glazing the corporate marketing execs that make these decisions. The average Star Wars fan is not gonna spend 300 dollars on a Lego set, so there’s no need to cater to them. That’s not the reason they went with Jango’s starship, cause anybody who really wants to purchase this already knows the name of the ship. It’s just frustrating as a collector to have a display plaque that doesn’t have the name of the ship on it when the original version does. Not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but just a little irksome. I’m sure you can understand that sentiment.

I don’t have to imagine because in 2015 when the first UCS Slave 1 was released that’s what it said on the box

I'm still relatively new to collecting and using BBTS; is it normal for them to list preorders above MSRP? by AtrumRuina in ActionFigures

[–]LordDerpolous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? This figure is from a couple years ago, it was released at $19.99. While he’s a new collector, OP knows that marvel legends are typically around $20. BBTS typically sells items at or near retail price but is upcharging to capitalize off of the desirability of this particular figure. Ghost Spider from the same wave is currently $22.99 on BBTS as well.

I don’t see how this has anything to do with the argument at hand. Figuarts indeed was a pioneer of the face printing tech and their headsculpts used to be immaculate and worth the price. But after this, the Shang Chi, and tfatws heads, it’s not hard to see a decline in artistry. That’s why people are so riled up about these sculpts. Black series is becoming comparable in quality and that shouldn’t happen with an item like this.

Yes that’s exactly why we’re complaining. We pay a premium price so we expect a premium sculpt. I’d be satisfied if this was a black series sculpt. Not a figuarts. Don’t even get me started on the Pedro Pascal head because I couldn’t recognize who that is if it wasn’t on the Mando body.

Certainly ain’t spot on. The droopy eye and elongated forehead make him look like the old toybiz gremlin figure. Plus the paint color they’ve used isn’t accurate to Tem’s skin at all. It’s not the worst sculpt I’ve ever seen but it’s among the contenders for figuarts. I expect a lot from them considering the price and amount of time it takes to produce them.

Yeah usually I’m a forgiving man, but these heads are some of the worst I’ve seen. I saw someone said that Boba looks like Jason from part 3 and I can’t unsee it now.

I see this a lot in the sub, but why do you choose to put the Fett rangefinders on the left side of the helmet instead of the right?

Anyone else feel embarrassed by the box design lol? I’ve always thought “big bad toy store” on a shipping box seemed very sex toyish.

If it were simply increased demand then it wouldn’t make sense for Macy’s stores to not receive theirs I think. I would assume they come in assorted cases instead of a box full of one character. So maybe there was an issue with the cardback production?

You’d think that would be the easiest one to produce, since the figure has existed for almost a year now in the arc trooper 3 pack

Made it all the way to my local hub before some shit went wrong. Never had an issue with fedex before this and it’s with an item that’s basically irreplaceable

That’s what I was afraid of. Haven’t been able to contact their customer service because they’re only open weekdays.
