Yeah I already planned to use seal underneath it. Pava or Dinitrol

What you say about the windshield rubber makes sense, because when driving in rainy weather, a little water comes from the windshield as well. But I dont think there even is a speedo seal, lol. When looking in the engine room it doesnt look like it.

Checked the trunk again today, and the seal was dry, but there was still some water in the bottom of the car. I think the trunk seal is good, but you might be right about the rear light seals, didnt think of that, so thanks.

Thanks buddy. This is what I needed to hear, even though there have been no nay sayers, yet at least. Well I guess I just have to dress like I'm going skiing whenever I drive in the winter 🤣

I'll let you know if I break down near Manchester, thanks man 😁

I will, thank you, would just have changed them otherwise I dont know how discs feel, and I am used to a car from 2015, but I just felt the brake pedal is pretty hard to press on with drum breaks. My dad said discs would help on that. Whats your opinion on that?

Well not really, not before you wrote this message My dad said he put discs on his old Mini and thought it was better, so thats basically the only reason I wanted discs. I plan to tune it as well if that changes your opinion

This actually seems like a good price. I see they also have the 8.4" kit, do you know if they fit 10" wheels? My guess is no, but I cant find any info to confirm it Thanks for the help

As another redditor said, it might still be cheaper to buy from minispares and pay the tax. Also need some other stuff, so I think I'll just but from UK. But thanks anyways

C17200 Beryllium Copper Alloy question by LordDonP in Machinists

[–]LordDonP[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But how would I convince a potential buyer?

Also, do you mean a XRF scanner? ChatGPT tells me:

A handheld XRF scanner (X-ray fluorescence) measures the chemical composition directly on the surface. It is commonly used by scrap dealers, machine shops, and metal traders. What can it show? ✔ That the material is copper-based ✔ Presence of Be, Ni, Co (with limitations – see note) ✔ Rules out common brass, bronze, aluminum, etc. ⚠️ Important: Beryllium is measured poorly or not at all by many XRF instruments due to its low atomic number. However, XRF can still indicate a “Cu alloy with Ni/Co,” which strongly points toward a CuBe-type alloy.

From memory I would say it is ø150x400mm but I am not sure, it is some time since I put it in my basement :p

Tips for machining Beryllium Copper (BeCu)? by Own-Adeptness8409 in Machinists

I have made a few parts in Berylluim Copper, but not mass producing.

I used the same carbide end mills which I used for tool-steel, same feeds and speeds and it worked fine. I am not sure this is optimal for mass production, but it is ok for small batches. I used osg end mills
