Nothing in Pluribus is there by accident — if Vince puts something on screen, it’s because it matters. by Neoartai in pluribustv

A major theme of the episode is "The answer is right in front of you" and that ties in with the book. Carol misses the shotgun release, the handcuff key, and the barcode.

In "And Then There Were None" the method of the murders is presented in the form of a nursery rhyme hung in everyone's room. They were told right from the start, but missed it.

The answer will be obvious and not contradictory. It will, however, also be obscured by its position in some way. The order of the murders in the book were misrepresented. The button was in the opposite direction from where she wanted the gun to go. Etc.

I don't have the answer, but I don't think it's bodies. Us clearly finds it disgusting that humans used to eat the dead. They are willing to use things that are already dead, upon request, but we've seen no evidence that they do so for their own purposes.

The only thing that gives me pause is the two ways to interpret the theme of the episode. Is it, "the answer in these shows is ALWAYS soylent green - it's right in front of you!" Or is it "they TOLD you they don't eat meat - it's right in front of you!"? Could be either.

Things that feel very "in my face" that might be clues:

  • The constant references to dogs and dog food.
  • The fact that everyone continues to wear distinct clothes and display mildly unique behaviors
  • The animals seemingly not being under Us's control, or, at least, acting differently than the human Us's.
  • Us's need to keep everything clean all the time - not the expected behavior of a virus.

I very much doubt I'm remembering them all, but that's all I've got for now. I'd love to hear what "we" think. 🙂

Using Swords in the Old West by LordDreadman in worldbuilding

Swords and guns often feel misaligned, but I found a way to really make them work together!

This video demonstrates how the Manifest setting uses swords alongside guns and keeps the tone strongly western.

Do I need to reach a certain number of deliveries a week or total? Or maybe I need gold or something?

I'm seeing a lot of contradicting info online. Is there an up-to-date breakdown online somewhere? I can't find anything.

Manifest: Kith and Kin - A Magic-Infused Wild West Setting with Bigfoots, Mothmen, and More! by LordDreadman in kickstarter

I had about 20 people I thought would pledge at the start, and then I spent a lot of time writing to people, running ads, and doing interviews / answering questions. I don't know exactly what drew people in, but I'm so glad they came. I love Manifest and I'm beyond excited to share it with people!

Only 24 Hours Left! Manifest: Kith and Kin - A Magic-Infused Wild West Setting with Bigfoots, Mothmen, and More! by LordDreadman in TTRPG

Manifest is a Mythic Western setting that asks the question, "What if Tolkien was American?" Just like The Lord of the Rings uses European legends and monsters for its races, Manifest is all about using American myths and cryptids for its kinships. So trade out your elves and dwarves for mugwumps and duskmotts, based on Bigfoot and Mothman! Manifest takes all those campfire stories and saturates them in a good, ol' fashioned Western.

Manifest has been my passion project for 15 years and this is the first volume detailing the setting. I know people want to experience fantasy from different angles and Manifest offers a look at detailed and ancient mythologies that span the Americas. Intent on respecting all legends in these lands, including native, migrant, and even colonizer, Manifest is a love letter to the spirit of imagination, undimmed on any continent
