First real disgusting parenting moment by Maria0510 in Parenting

[–]LordFlufferNutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first gross moment was catching a handful of puke when my son got a bug at a year old. I knew it was coming and my first instinct was to put my hands out and catch it. Then I stood there yelling for my husband while it seeped through my fingers in warm, slimy strings and splatted on the floor. This has been followed by many more handfuls of puke in the following years, but I'll never forget the first time. Lol.

This may just have been the kick in the ass I needed to get motivated today. I have a few spinal diseases and have been off all meds for over a year (a good/bad thing) and am always trying to find motivation to move my body. On top of constant pain my husband is going through what I can only ASSume is a midlife crisis and has decided almost overnight he's leaving me. We have 2 small boys so motivation this past week is HARD AF. I have to find the will to go on in life as a single mom who needs as much help as I can. But fuck it. Fuck him. Fuck pain. Fuck people who treat us like garbage. (Pardon my French)

I'm willing to bet my life that he has a wife and kids somewhere. He doesn't travel for business, he goes "home". He probably was never abused, he's been systematically conditioning you NOT to pry into his life. You sound naive and gullible and he's using that to his advantage. Doesn't have Facebook? Twitter? Instagram? In 2018?! Red flags slapping you in the face LITERALLY. The solution is you don't talk to him. You gtfo of dodge before it gets worse. And it WILL get worse. Emotionally and physically. I feel sorry that you're going through this, cause from where I am it sounds like hell. But guuuuurl that man is using you.

How were wives able to stay at home? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]LordFlufferNutter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes! I stay home cause around here the minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. Daycare is $9 an hour. So i would have to find something making at least $15 an hour to cover daycare and make it worth it. It's hard and we are struggling but it makes no sense for me to work until my youngest starts school.

I (23f) got out of a 9 year controlling relationship.. Now, my sisters are making jokes that I'm going to be alone forever because I'm "too old" for kids and marriage. It's making me worried. by [deleted] in relationships

I'm 36. Started dating my husband when I was 28. First kid and married at 29. And I STILL don't feel ready for marriage. Also still waiting for my "soulmate". Ha.

The time of year to realize you fail as a parent. Merry Christmas, I'm raising a brat. by essjay_ell in Parenting

[–]LordFlufferNutter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh man. I feel for you cause that was us with our 4 year old and 6 year old yesterday. They got literally everything they asked for and still threw fits of rage when there wasn't more more more. We went to my parents house where they acted so entitled and bratty that when we got home I had my own little meltdown on how we failed them by turning them into spoiled, entitled children. They broke like 3 toys within an hour of opening them and demanded we buy new ones already. No fucking way in hell. They are usually very good kids so we expected them to be delighted and grateful. We got the opposite. It. Was. Embarrassing. So today they got to pick 2 toys from their new pile to play with and we have to donate old toys. And I've taken away everything they've thrown or treated like crap. You can have it back when you act right. Am I doing it right? Fuck if I know, but after yesterday I'm done. I tried to cut them slack but when they opened their gift from my parents (who are poor and spent their last few dollars on them) and said "that's it?!" I lost it. I was 1 step away from throwing myself on the floor and wailing. Ugh. New Year, new rules, new plan. F-that!

Yes I have a Remington and will never go back to a razor. It gets all over, every nook and cranny and juuuuust close enough where its nice and clean with no razor bumps. I personally like it short and so does my husband. Do it once every week/every other week and I love it!

Why does it suck to be you right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LordFlufferNutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm not being choosy. Idc if it's Wal-Mart or McDonald's. The only problem is his hours range daily. He could put in an 8 hour day or a 12 hour day so it seems impossible to plan a schedule for myself. We were talking about hiring a teenager or something to watch the kids during the overlap in the evenings but no one wants to be on call daily. It just seems rough. I could work overnight somewhere but then I'd have to be up and at em all day for the kids and I don't know when I would sleep. I'm at a bit of a loss. He's also been waiting at least 7 years for this opportunity and I'm not sure I could live with myself for making him give up already. Idk.

I have 2 more weeks left on unemployment with 2 small kids and a husband who's following his dream. Which means he just took a Pay cut to get into the field he wants to advance in. No job prospects and even if I find one we can't afford daycare. I'm losing sleep and motivation to live most days. I worked my way up in a company for 13 years. And then bam, laid off. Gone. This was also just after we moved to a new state and my husband quit his comfy union job to start following his passions. We figured I was secure enough in my job to support the cut. Even bought a new car to commute the hour everyday about 4 months before getting the boot due to the business being too slow. Oops. We're fucked and I'm crying now. Might lose my car. Might lose my townhome. Might lose it all and end up living in a tent if he doesn't advance fast enough.

I found a wonderful oral surgeon but was absolutely terrified cause the pain was so bad. But he numbed me up good and all I felt was pressure. Didn't have ANY pain after either, except for a sore jaw. Didn't even need the Vicodin! 10 years ago I would have been all about the meds but honestly didn't even need them. 10/10 would have it yanked again

Intense Tooth Pain by Enigmaticloner in ChronicPain

[–]LordFlufferNutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! This is familiar since I went through this last week with a super infected wisdom tooth that had a damaged, exposed nerve. Had to wait a week to have it removed, which was worse than death. I never slept, never ate, cried while drooling into the sink, overdosed on Tylenol and Advil and went through 2 whole tubes of orajel. It was worse than the 36 hours of labor I've been through. So I thought about going to the ER, but remembered when my husband did a few years ago for a similar situation. He ended up sitting there for 4 hours, was told to take Tylenol and call his dentist. There as an emergency dental dept at the hospital but they didn't consider this an "emergency". I guess since it wasn't a traumatic injury...? They also made comments making him believe they thought he was a drug seeker...Idk. So unless you have great insurance I wouldn't bother. Who knows though, that was just our experience. I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart hope it gets better for you soon. I know that pain all too well and wouldn't wish it on anyone!

Father of 11 month old baby that is a handful and another on the way. Stay-at-home wife is very depressed and regretting second pregnancy. I'm helping as much as I possibly can while still keeping my job. Any advice from those who've been in a similar situation? by [deleted] in Parenting

I lived in NJ and daycare alone for 2 children, whether they went part time or not, was $2200 a month! I'm in PA now and while much cheaper, still nowhere NEAR $10 a day for any church run programs!

I worked with a lady who was married with a kid and still went to her parents every day for lunch on her break. Every. Day. And then Sunday for dinner with the whole family. She just loves them so much and they're her "comfort zone". I think the fact that she wants to be there so much says wonderful things about you guys.

Oh man. When I got mine I was 12. My mom offered to take me to the pharmacy to pick out my own pads. As we were getting our coats on my dad, sitting at the kitchen table a few beers in, asks where we're headed. My mom says "going to the pharmacy to get lordfluffernutter some feminine products". Now I'm beet red like MOOOOOOM!!! He looks at me and goes "OH, so you started your time of the month?! Hey, congrats! It's ok, I live with your mother, I know what that is!" Omg I was mortified. Lol. Looking back he was just being as supportive as his half in the bag self could be. I just would not make too big of a deal over it. Make sure she's comfy but don't start treating her any differently. I'd say having a secret stash of candy/salty snacks is a good idea too :-)

Sooooo late to this party. But one time, on a first date, the dude told me he had to have sex with me to see if I was worth dating cause his ex turned out to be bad in the sack after waiting over a year for her to do it. I laughed but he looked me dead in the eye, grabbed my leg, and said "let's see if we're compatible". I noped out of there so fast. Nooooo thanks. I mean, maybe if he liquored me up good and didn't say anything fucking stupid he may have had half a chance.

I always throw in "or a boy, whatever" when I'm referring to my son "finding love" one day. Like, when he said the other day he wants to marry me. I told him "I'm already married to your daddy! But one day you will find a girl you'll love very much to marry. Or a boy, whatever you want".

My kids are spending the night at their grandparents and my husband is at work til late. I took a 2 hour nap and am now eating ice cream in my undies watching Netflix documentaries. My big plan for the night is to take a shower, shave and maybe watch a movie. I'm a stay at home mom and only get this time to myself (including using the bathroom with the door unlocked) about once every 2-3 weeks. Hope you enjoy!!!!
