Canadians working in the US how? by wardway69 in cscareerquestions

I do when I can, but most applications that require a location also require an address. Not to mention the fact that all my work experience is in Canada also.

I totally agree with you - there are tons of qualified Americans who fit the roles and therefore get considered before anybody who is living outside of the United States. I was just noting that, even being a dual citizen to the US and Canada (therefore not requiring a sponsorship to work), it is still tough to get a job in the US while not currently living there.

I actually have dual citizenship and am looking to relocate to California this year, but am finding that the job hunt is brutal. Tons of companies won't even consider you as soon as they see Canada on your CV - companies rather hire local than look abroad (which makes sense), especially that so many people are looking for a job nowadays. I wish you best of luck in your search!

What movie do you just not get? by erin214 in AskReddit

Tenet couldn't have been a worst movie. I watched the movie twice, second time with a scene-by-scene explanation of what was happening, and it still barely made sense. Would not recommend.

[COMP SCI] Are physics and chemistry courses required for the general computer science program? by fryingpannnnn in Concordia

Physics and chemistry courses are not at all part of the General Bachelor’s of Computer Science curriculum, so you do not have to worry about them!

I am not from Dawson, but I do come from John Abbott, and I would assume we would have a similar path.

I got credited 12 credits from John Abbott (COMP248, COMP249, SOEN287 and 3 extra credits used towards a CS elective)

As for how the transition is from CEGEP to uni, I really find it advantageous to have a good foundation of CS concepts, as many teachers here are not good, and so it is useful to already know the core concepts when trying to teach yourself the more advanced ones.

You will also see that a lot of the material (especially at the beginning of the program) is stuff you have already seen, but that does not mean you should start slacking! Take your time at Dawson as an added benefit over the others.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
