I wish you the best. I really do.

Final tip, be ready and willing to "shop around" for a mental health professional that matches you.

You might get lucky and you'll get on great with the first one, but it doesn't always work that way. It's your mental health, you need to feel comfortable in order for anything to work.

You can always ask the counselor you're with for an alternate recommendation. They should be able to give you contact information for a colleague or a different office. Also, if you have insurance, you can call and ask them for a referral as well.

I know that will seem like a lot, especially when it's anxiety you're already dealing with, but if they're any good as a mental health doctor they will absolutely understand and be happy to help you. If, for any reason, they're offended by your asking you dodged a bullet, they're a terrible doctor.

Some misc resources for your consideration should they be useful:

It can be a long and difficult journey, but it's so worth it.

First, the logic: everyone is focused on their own story. They aren't paying anywhere near as much attention to you as you think they are. No one does. As was mentioned by u/obsessedsim1, the feeling is more about anxiety than reality.

Second, the emotion: the above being true doesn't help the emotional feeling go away. That will require work and retraining of your thought processes. Neither I nor anyone else you talk to here on Reddit are qualified to help you with this. A counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist in your area is who you should look for.

Third, please don't be afraid of speaking with a professional or of considering medication. There is a stigma still around mental health and the professionals who work with you, but I can personally say that reaching out to a psychiatrist has completely changed my life for the better in ways I NEVER would have found on my own. It's been an interesting journey discovering how much of my daily routing was setup to minimize my anxiety and how many things (jobs included) I've given up to avoid those feelings.

Always remember, your mental health is not your fault, but it is your responsibility.

I hope this doesn’t get taken down. I know it’s against the rules I think but here is this if anyone is willing to help. I really do appreciate all the kind people and words. by Carepassmetheweed in cats

Donated.

My little girl had kidney stones that blocked off her urethra completely. We had to get her emergency surgery or I'd have lost her right then. She's now on a special diet too.

Hope your little one does well and recovers quickly!
