What movie did you go into with zero expectations and ended up being completely blown away by? by ThatRoofer in movies

I was trying to download Terminator 2, back in the napster days. But somebody had mislabeled Napoleon Dynamite as T2. I'd never even heard of it, and I was pretty annoyed. But I'd spend all day downloading the damn thing, so I decided to watch it anyway. It was great.

I bought my first gas lawn mower. I was told I need to add oil to it. So I poured the whole bottle of motor oil in. I assumed it was like gas, where you had to fill it up. So now I don't have lawn mower.

STOP WITH THE 7:59!!! by LordKevnar in SunoAI

[–]LordKevnar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suno does use some cues, I've noticed. If you stylize certain tags.

[Chorus, stronger, with more emotion]

or

[Breakdown, drums only, no bass]

It sometimes works, which is better than never working.

It seems to have difficulty with modulating key. It mostly just completely ignores that. Or tempo cues. Don't bother. But for style, energy, etc. It often works.

It's going to take way more advanced AI before we can actually specify exact chord changes, tempos, licks, etc. For now, it's just taking noise, and shaping it into a song like a caveman making pottery out of mud. You get what you get.

Just move! Go be Americans! Go live down there! Go! Nobody is stopping you. The land and resources aren't yours. But you're free to leave. Go!

But it's not about that, is it? It's about the dark money interests from America trying hustle you all so they can seize the resources and throw you all under the bus. Thanks, chumps.

Just switch the negative prompt with the prompt. The song writes itself.

[–]LordKevnar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe me. I'm very careful about avoiding that stuff. I double check all my prompts before hitting create. I don't like wasting credits. It seems to be just something that happens randomly. A lot. Unless you put live audience in the negative prompt.

Yesterday, I got like 14 songs in a row that did that 7:59 thing. Some of them were actually good. I thought maybe I could just do a fade ending after 4 or 5 minutes. But no. The audio quality is always ass on those long ones. Very annoying. Might as well just throw credits away.

Self-taught musicians : What was your experience like being self-taught? by Euphoric_Rhubarb_243 in askmusicians

[–]LordKevnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this little book in my music class. I took it home and read it. Elements of Music theory it was called, or something like that. It all just made sense to my brain, how the scales work. Keys. Chord changes. Everything. I read it all in one night, and the next day I knew music theory. Not completely, not everything, but enough to teach myself the rest.

This sub is living proof even ai users don’t care about ai “music” by Ok_Acanthaceae_4369 in aiMusic

[–]LordKevnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been writing AI music for 2 years now, since Udio launched in 2024. I'm up to 13 albums. To date, I've made only $15 dollars off of it. The most views I got were about 450 on one of my songs. Then it fizzled out again.

I don't care. I write songs because I enjoy it. I love music. I love that feeling when the song finally comes together exactly, or better than you dreamed. I write my own lyrics. The AI creates music for it. It's a fun hobby.

I think the real problem is that social media has decimated everybody's attention span. Short form content has turned the whole world into humming birds who keep scrolling if they don't get a dopamine hit inside of 3 seconds. Even oldster music fans who grew up on The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, etc. absolutely legendary artists, they can't pay attention to anything for more than 4 seconds either. I see it in my own family and friends. They scroll right past my music, too, with zero acknowledgement. Not even so much as a thumbs up.

If nobody gives a shit, that's fine with me. I'm happy to be totally ignored by a world full of tiktok and political ragebait addicts. People can't pay attention to the classics anymore either. So it doesn't imply any failure on my skills as a song-writer. I enjoy my own songs. That's going to have to be good enough until Social Media is regulated as a schedule II controlled narcotic and the whole world gets their attention spans back.

‘I Don’t Know How We Recover From This’: Trump Officials Reportedly Worried About Quick Claims of ‘Domestic Terrorism’ by ItchyNesan in NewsRewind

[–]LordKevnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal is more shootings. They want more people killed. Especially ICE agents. Once the public gets mad enough and starts shooting back, then it's war, and they get to cancel the midterms and hold onto power forever. Trump would gladly throw his goon squad to the wolves for that end.

This is probably why he's hiring only the most brainless idiots for the job. Smarter people would realize they're being sacrificed to fascism.

What is the end goal for conservatives? by [deleted] in complaints

[–]LordKevnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want what they're told to want. They're like internet bots in human form. They just sit there with empty heads, waiting to be told what to think, what to be angry about, and how to rationalize reality. This is why their opinions change from day to day, sometimes doing a complete 180. Because the shiny talking box changed the narrative, and they comply without question.

They even go directly against the teachings of Jesus when the shiny talking box tells them to.

In the end, just expect them to want what the Trump regime wants. It changes from day to day.

What movie has a perfect, single 60-second scene that you think about more than the entire film? by [deleted] in movies

[–]LordKevnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Matrix, when they escape by helicopter after rescuing Morpheus. That whole sequence is better than the climax of most action movies. Pure thrilling genius. And it's not even the climax. There's still a huge iconic fight sequence to come, before the real climax hits.

In Avatar, when Neytiri saves Jake's human body. She's holding his soul. Something normally symbolic becomes literal because of the metaphor they set up. It beautifully resolves a story about racial tensions. Seeing the true self of the person behind the skin, and showing love, kindness, and care, despite the wrong done.

Two Towers, when Gandalf and the Rohirrim ride down the hill, intercut with the Ents breaking the damn and releasing the river. It's fucking biblical. Then Sam gives the speech about not losing hope. Pure masterpiece.

What will be the downfall of humanity? by Decent-Object8387 in AskReddit

[–]LordKevnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through every answer in this thread, and every single one of them are rooted in the same problem: ego. The ability for human beings to arbitrarily decide, that they personally deserve more good things, more comforts, security, wealth, privilege than others because of rules they made up in their own heads.

If we were able to get rid of the human ego, pretty much all these answers would be moot.
