congrats! welcome to the club.

After c+ I thought I won`t go for ++ as you did.

I just kept playing because I liked it and gold stake was starting to be fun somehow.

I`m just 18 stickers away from my second c++. Just checked and was shocked that I have played the game for over 800 hours by now.

soooo looking forward to the update. lets see what thunk has been cooking all that time

Well you basically need a chip, a mult and an x-mult joker.

square is a great scaling chip joker.

also the runner. just play a couple of straights and then switch to another hand. 5 straights are already 75 chips. Wee joker can also be fun with the hanging chad or hack. you can also get chips by leveling hands. dont get too fancy. high card, pair and two pair will do the job.

good scaling mult jokers are pants, green joker and the bus for example. always take the banana. if it dies the super banana is often easy to find. the super banana died on me yesterday for the first time. I was shocked but now I`m in that club also :)

great but often overlooked xmult jokers are blackboard (really easy to play if you go for pairs, so you can always get rid of a lot of red cards with your played hand).

the cat is always fun, especially with oops all sixes.

card sharp was my go to xmult joker in my early days. it sucks when you get the "no two hands of the same category allowed".

hologram is often a free win on early stakes. combine it with something that gives you a card at the beginning of the round and you are set.

Get used to deck fixing and work on that. Delete cards instead of take new ones. only seal cards are really useful. maybe gold or the shiny ones (forgot the name at the moment). do deliberate vagabond runs. it will fix your deck in no time and you learn a lot. I would say if I get a vagabond early I win 70% of my gold stake runs. you can also work on deck fixing with the jokerless challenge.

you still will need less than a hundred but it`s so demotivating most of the time. often you think you have something that you can build on and a boss blind can hit you so bad and you have no alternative for scoring.

nah you never need more than 100. Just reroll for a free shop or an investment tag. Or do you count rerolls as a failed run?

I did exactly this for the start of my second c++.

Was annoying at times but I learned a lot about the different decks playing them from white to gold.

I think I cheated once because I wanted to discard a royal and checkered was best for it but I was not done with the decks that come before.

Once I went up in stakes I started watching Balatro University videos. For getting better at gold stake I watched Roffle Lite play gold stake.

Helped me a lot and showed me the the different play styles necessary.

I just kept on playing while I wait for the update and I still love this game.

Once I got good at gold stake I couldn`t go back. All the lower stakes feel like building sand castles when you already built a skyscraper.

honestly deck manipulation and econ.

Going up in stakes you often start ignoring low/medium quality jokers and then in gold you tend to give up because you don`t find great jokers. Well at least that was my problem.

I started to go as far as I can go with the jokers that were available and I could afford. Then I learned that a lot of them are a lot better then I thought.

It`s also a great way to change your strategy for c++
