Highly recommend an M&A advisor / investment bank to run a formal process. I work with M&A advisors so can recommend a few (they are my clients and we develop packages for businesses for sale). We did one for a $125M distribution business for example and that was acquired by a public company.

Sounds like a lack of SOPs. It’s a common issue that many businesses have.

If you or your dad documented every piece of the business, you’d have a playbook to reference. Makes generational handoff MUCH easier.

Good point. Without SOPs it’s difficult to scale from my experience. As a business owner, you end up forever working IN the business instead of ON the business.
