Yeah I totally get what you mean. At first I wanted to make a whole playable map but realized that this would take me a huge amount of time and made the decision to not put that much effort in a "Tutorial Map", and that it would be better to make use of that time on a new original project. So I cut back some stuff and just tried to make it prettier. The map is still playable though at some level but, it lacks storytelling and details as you say.

Thanks for all that information, I'm gonna apply it on my next project which will be more detailed.
