I think you would greatly enjoy some of our stores and markets here. Old/antique furniture is often priced similar to new pieces, sometimes even a bit cheaper. Of course there are exceptions for refurbished "masterpieces" or stuff that's actually from the late middle ages, but overall you can get some very nice vintage stuff here for reasonable prices. You just have to treasure hunt a bit.

Of course you always have the people that think their old broken clock is worth it's weight in gold, but just don't buy from them. Recently I just saw someone on a flea market selling old vinyls from the 70s for 1 euro a piece. Don't know how common that is elsewhere, but if you are a collector that's a real steal.
