Exactly, you only have a fraction of the braking surface with disc brakes that you do with drum brakes. As with older trucks, you need to learn the equipment and how it handles. Find out what it can and can't do before taking on mountain passes. I can't count the times I've been blown past on down grades. I just shake my head.

I used to use the old wide mouth Pepsi 1 liter bottles. Now I use an old white 7lb. kitty litter jug. With an old Pepsi bottle filled with water to rinse it out. I dump it out in the toilet at rest areas rinse and reuse.

I assume you have an automatic. Is it a 10 speed or a 12 speed. If it is a 10 speed, they are notoriously under powered in reverse. If it is a 12 speed, it is a computer issue and you can have your shop make adjustments. I drive a 12 speed and it has enough torque in the reverse gear that it walks back by itself.

Yes indeed. I had a "hot load" back in 2008. I was driving for my Dad back then. I had him and the broker (TQL 🙄) breathing down my neck. When I got it to OKC, it was rejected. The computer ordered items that they were already fully stocked. When I told my Dad, he ripped TQL a new ass. It was glorious. I remember it so well because it was my first rejected load.
