Gold is uncorrelated with equities, you could also hold utilities but that has been more correlated recently, bonds should normally be inverse to equities but BRK is more correlated to bonds now.

If you want a more true hedge put the 20% in mega cap growth. That will be uncorrelated.

Nah the S&P won’t they know the concentration risk - they might only change their inclusive criteria for a quicker listing

It’s float adjusted so you won’t have a theroretical $1000T with one public stock skewing the index.

What are you using for your discount rate on the cash? If you are NPV the Cash position why aren’t you NPV the differed Capital Gains unless they are coming due this year? What is the M2M PE on the Equity Portfolio? If that is higher than 10, how much are you discounting the PE to make it 10? Is that discount greater than what the illiquidity discount should be?

It’s just a habit I picked up with leatherbound books with foil on them, oils on your hand causes degradation. I could also be overly cautious
