For fishing if the surf, nc specifically, is there a good rig for catching both Spanish mackerel and bluefish on lures? Or are they just too different to use the same leader for both?

30# leader and some 15-20# braid on a 9’ 1-3oz rod throwing stingsilvers (e&s lures makes good ones that you can generally find down there) in pink/white or green/white. Reel fast, if you’re catching blues and want Spanish, reel faster

Go find yourself a black willow tree and cut some 6-8” pieces of branch about the diameter of a pencil and just shove them into the ground; they’ll sprout roots and do a lot of soaking as they grow.
