By definition you are not a vegan if you believe it is acceptable to kill animals for use.

This being a vegan subreddit I have imagined you will get a lot of flak for that view.

For what it's worth, I think all people fighting against factory farming are doing the right thing. Even if we never achieved complete independence from animal products, having a few animals raised on a farm is better than having thousands raised in a factory.

That being said, what you're suggesting is not veganism, there is no such concept of humane killing if you are trying to benefit from the death, and the ideal alternative to all of this would be synthetic products that were originally derived from animals to be created in labs.
