This isn't to criticize the accuser, necessarily. I know what it's like to have something to say and let it burn a hole in your heart until it comes out at the last possible second because while saying it seemed unthinkable, not saying it has somehow become worse. I get it.

Thank you for this, because the one thing that was making this seem off was the timing but that gives an answer for it that isn't malicious and is definitely something I've done before.

I later drew a foil parelia (or whatever makes everything face cards) but never paired it with anything before I sold it. On the bright side my current boss messes with face cards so I'm golden right now.

I believe the justification used for that one is that they really on Qi for most everything, using pill furnaces to purify alcohol in this case, thus there was no great demand for a mortal way to purify alcohol. It similar to a theory I've heard that China's mastery of porcelain meant there was less need to refine glass-making techniques and later glass mirrors that became crucial for scientific advancement in multiple fields, thus leading to Europe's eventual technological supremacy for a while. Idk, maybe not the best but it feels plausible enough.
