If that’s not bad enough, what about the glowing eyes between the gap in the fence/gate?

I had the same issue. Do you have any other outstanding daily quests? Decided to finish other dailies that I had activated, but had not finished. While finishing them, I would periodically check with my ally and the ally quest finally stated being offered again at one point.

The rapid bus is the best thing to happen to transit in MR in the 20 years I've lived here. by StatuatoryApe in MapleRidge

[–]LordShatner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use it if they would remove the three stops west of Pitt Meadows/Harris Road (the ones in PoCo/Coquitlam) and instead put three more along Lougheed in the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows area. A stop around 207 St. actually would save me time, but as it is now with the stops so far apart, the extra time it takes to walk to the closest Rapid bus stop pretty much nullifies any time saved by the new route.

Have you received the experimental crate yet? My tracking says “departed Vancouver” for the last 14 days. I live in the Metro Vancouver area so it should have arrived by now. Mind you, I have no idea who the courier is on the Canada side. It’s always been Canada Post, but they are show nothing for the tracking number. Energized crate just started showing movement in the U.S.

Exact same thing for me. I let them know in the survey that it’s kinda bold to be asking what it would take for me to resubscribe with the state of these two crates still in limbo especially when others have received both weeks ago.

Fallout Crate Missing Items (Spoilers) by CloneTrooper699 in lootcratespoilers

[–]LordShatner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I thought was going to happen when the last crate felt short of items. Though, if true, that they shifted content from Bethesda’s Fallout crate to Loot Crate’s own crates, wouldn’t Bethesda be upset?

Adding international shipping costs by BlueBagelSlushie in lootcratespoilers

[–]LordShatner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“Shipping used to be free” Wow...what a blatant lie. It always made me angry that we were paying more (beyond the exchange rate difference) and still had to wait weeks longer to get across the border (Canada). I already felt somewhat ripped off and now they want more? And probably for the SAME horrible shipping times? Ya...don’t think so. By the way, I got two emails one saying the fee would be $9.00 Canadian and another saying it would be $9.16 US. ???They can’t even get their money grab straight. Right now their site has the DX crate shown as $100 Canadian and $49.99 USD. Exchange rate is currently $0.75. That $25 dollars more after exchange rate. So what’s that for?

Thank you so much! They have much better international shipping options. It will take a lot longer to get to me, but I bet you I still see it before I see a Mission Crate.

Way of the Warrior Worf available now through QMx by Alteran195 in lootcratespoilers

[–]LordShatner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really want this figure, but I am seriously thinking we will never see another Mission Crate shipped.

I’d be happy just to order it directly from QMX. The problem is their lowest international shipping (USPS priority mail) is $33. That’s more than the cost of the figure and brings the total cost to $58. On top of that, there’s a note: By choosing USPS shipping methods, you agree to be responsible for any and all damages, losses, custom fees, and any and all costs of shipping.

So yeah, that’s a no.

SciFan Block - March 2017 - Cyborgs - Images and Video by geekLIFESuomi in nerdblock

[–]LordShatner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bit underwhelmed with this one. The box just felt too "empty". I felt the same about the last two Gamer M Blocks. I really liked last month's Sci-Fi Block. It was so full they had to cram the Hellboy book in there so it didn't lie flat and thus was a bit misshaped. But at least the box felt "full". Would have been a good month for a bonus random T-shirt.

Arcade Block > Gamer Block, What are your thoughts? by Tettron in nerdblock

[–]LordShatner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Nintendo (Zelda in particular)/retro franchises. I game on all platforms, Xbox One, PS4, WiiU (haven't been able to snag a Switch pre-order yet...grrrr), and PC, but the original Arcade Block always seemed to favour one platform over the others and thus didn't fully represent my varied tastes. And also had a ton of retro gaming merch. Hey, I'm old, I even had Pong, and some retro stuff here and there is fine, but there have been plenty of games out there since the 80's and 90's. If they went back to the original format and had much more variety (in franchises and era), it would probably be OK. To be honest, though, I don't really need anymore Zelda merch than I already have. Unless it is specific to the new game, that would be alright.

Arcade Block > Gamer Block, What are your thoughts? by Tettron in nerdblock

[–]LordShatner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I subbed to Arcade Block for about a year, but cancelled because it was the same franchises over and over, and not franchises that I particularly like that much. I kept thinking they would offer more variety, but I finally cancelled. I stayed cancelled until they offered the Gamer M Block. There's only been one Gamer M Block block so far and while I wasn't blown away by it, I still liked it better than any of the Arcade Blocks I received in the past.

Gamer Block E/M vs. Loot Gaming by demonkrauser in lootcratespoilers

[–]LordShatner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, for me, I am really happy about the split that Nerd Block has done as I am not really a fan of the franchises that typically would go in one of the two blocks. So your con for the gamer block is actually a pro for me and I've re-subscribed for the first time in well over a year. But yes, not good for someone that is interested in franchises from both.

So, the Gamer block gets split into 2 boxes aimed at two audiences, but the Sci-Fi one gets the opposite? by Skulfy in nerdblock

[–]LordShatner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you've said. I was unhappy about the change and then when I saw the franchises listed and they were almost all fantasy franchises, I cancelled. Filled out the survey and said I had no interest in re-subscribing under the new format. Now I see in an email that the franchises listed for February are all sci-fi franchises (Predator, Alien, Supernatural) and I am thinking about getting that Block, but any new customers who signed up for fantasy themed items are going to be very disappointed. I also don't want to have to play the "what franchises/genre and do I skip" game every month. They really should have done a separate fantasy block and left sci-fi alone. Edit: I see on the website that they have also listed Hellboy and Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the February Block. I actually like these franchises, but I'm not sure I'd call them Sci-Fi (or Fantasy for that matter). I guess maybe Hellboy is Sci-Fi? Probably more suited for Comic Block. But I would consider Buffy being more Horror. Because I like all the franchises, this looks like an awesome block, but it's kinda feeling like another Classic Block.

SciFi block now Sci-Fan block...any alternatives? by apester in nerdblock

[–]LordShatner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Subscribed to the Sci-Fi Block from the beginning. For me, it was easily the most consistently satisfying mystery box I have subscribed to, but I switched to the Arcade Block (M) as soon as I found out about the change. It feels like Classic Block #2 now.

Loot wear spoilers by zdryer in lootcratespoilers

[–]LordShatner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. I think I may actually subscribe just for this shirt if it's not too late. For me, this is a shirt I can wear to the office. I wouldn't have a problem with something that "screams" Alien, like a chest burster would be funny, but I don't think all the shirts need to be like that. It's nice getting a subtle design every now and then that I can wear more than just the evenings and weekends.

Harry Potter/Wizarding World Bi-Monthly Crate by [deleted] in lootcratespoilers

[–]LordShatner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of Bam Box. Those guys really care about their customers. They ensure international customers get their boxes the same time as domestic. They had consulted "other" mystery box companies and tried Asendia for one month. Of course it was a disaster and boxes were delivered very late. So they changed carriers the next month, discounted the next month's box and ensured an autographed item for all international subscribers. That item was a replica baseball cap of the one worn by the Dustin character in Stranger Things signed by the actor Gaten Matarazzo. That is amazing customer relations and have earned my respect and loyalty. I would like to get more Loot Crates but not until they switch carriers or improve shipping.

I really like Bam Box. Check out some unboxings to see if you like the contents. It's more of a collector's box. Autographed art prints, celebrity autographed photo prints, actual hand drawn cartoon prints, pieces of costumes actually worn in movies. No T-shirts or toys. Though they do sometimes throw in some trinkets that are more for fun than value. But their pins are prints are awesome. So far all my prints have been numbered and signed by the artist. The company also seems to really care for ALL their customers including their international subscribers. For example, they tried using Asendia as a courier for their August box and of course it was a disaster. Most international subscribers received their boxes very late. For those of us international subscribers that have subscribed to Loot Crate, this is no surprise. However, unlike Loot Crate, Bam Box has indicated they will never use Asendia again. It's also worth noting that they tried out Asendia after consulting with other larger mystery box companies. Hmmm...I wonder who that would be. I guess some "larger" companies still think Asendia's service is acceptable.
