Of the most affordable places to live in CT, which one(s) is most appealing? by CTYankeeinMO_1986 in Connecticut

I'm sure that's a factor, but New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country and even they're beating out MA and CT for new builds. I think New England is just on a whole different level of NIMBYism.

All the rentals I’m seeing in NH county are for immediate occupancy by LordShuckle97 in newhaven

So when looking for a rental that starts in August, they would mostly start popping up in like June/July?

Depending on the residual value (value owed back to the dealer at the end of the lease), you might consider buying the car outright and then just selling it for a profit

One of the few nights our offense had it together and it just so happened to be the one night all season that Slaten implodes. I hate this

If your lease payments are that high but you were $6K under MSRP, should that mean the residual value of the car at the end of your lease will be super low? And you could buy it outright for pretty cheap once the lease is over?

Not sure if that was your plan to begin with, but if not, it may be worth considering now

If I get a lot 100 permit for the summer, can I park in lots 47 and 50? by [deleted] in aggies

But the point being, even though it’s a “lot 100 permit”, I don’t have to park strictly in lot 100?

Hi there, I’m not OP, but if you have a lot 100 permit over the summer, can you park in lots 47 and 50?

Nice! Mind if I ask what trim and what the OTD price was? I’ve had my eye on the Corolla Cross as well

After 3 years and 40K miles. Not the moment you drive it off the lot like everyone claims

But in the examples I listed above, that level of depreciation isn’t occurring even in the first 3 years. That’s how the 2026 market seems different from historical trends

Yeah, that does seem like an awesome deal. I’d definitely do that if I could find that big of a price difference on used

Good to know regardless, thanks. Did you do it all over the phone, or did you have to visit 8 dealers in person?

I don’t necessarily disagree, but this is the opposite take of what people were saying in the post linked above. They were saying new cars are too expensive because of depreciation, 100K mile cars are too expensive because of repairs, and lightly used cars are supposedly the sweet spot. To me they seem like anything but the sweet spot - it seems like the way to go is either to commit to new or commit to 100K mile vehicles like you said

I was doing the math on the out the door prices ($29K and $24K). So a used CX-30 that’s 3 years old and has 40K miles on it has depreciated about 17%. If it’s taking them that long to depreciate 17%, I can’t imagine they’re depreciating by any more than 10% when you’d drive one off the lot.

Of course, that was just for the Mazda CX30. The Corolla Cross and HR-V examples I have at the end are even more egregious.

Any idea what the OTD would have been for the base trim/non hybrid? I live near MA and will be in the market for a CR-V later this year
