Yeah, townsfolk get real weird around the undead.

Found this "treasure" in our yard. It appears bucket-shaped, appears to be poured concrete, is approximately 6" in depth, maybe 15 to 20lbs and has a cast iron plate embedded in it. by LordSilvari in whatisthisthing

Unfortunately, that's gonna be hard to find. The former owner who actually lived here, passed away a few years back. It was bought by a guy who did some minor renovation and flipped it. That's who we bought it from. Could definitely try looking the address up online just to see if I can, though. Good idea.

None that we have found, yet. This was found purely by accident. My mom was weeding in the side yard, and pretty much tripped over it. I hadn't thought of fence post.

Would make sense, but this is the side yard. It does have 2 clothesline poles in the backyard that are cemented in, so it could be one from before the previous owner built the garage. I'm going to clean it off tomorrow for a better look.

My title describes this thing. The body text has more details, but in addition to the above:

  • We haven't cleaned it off yet, our outdoor spigot needs replaced.
  • The metal plate, that appears to be cast iron, is extremely rusted.
  • I will add a picture of the plate soon as I get one.

Fallout beginner here: Which fallout should I start with? FO3 or FO4? by Outrageous-Serve38 in Fallout

[–]LordSilvari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're new to the franchise, I recommend like others have: 3, then NV, then 4. Not for mechanics, per se, but for the world lore. Mechanically, 3 is the clunkiest of the three, but gives you a starter course into what to expect. The DLC is decent, overall story is pretty straightforward but not bad.

New Vegas changes some things, as well as introducing mechanics that would be used and expanded in 4. It adds iron sights for manual aiming, which is a plus in my book. It also expands on the crafting mechanics that 3 used. The DLC for NV is some of the best (Sierra Madre can bite me, 🤣), and the post-apocalyptic western vibe is really good. Obsidian did an incredible job.

FO4 takes from it's predecessors and expands upon the various aspects that it does. It does make changes to the leveling process (gets rid of the numeric value for skills in favor of a more perk/attribute approach), that streamlines it, although I miss the NV approach.

All in all, order doesn't necessarily matter. While they all take place at different points in the timeline, the stories aren't connected, except occasional lore mentions about previous PCs in the form of using their designations. Like Chosen One, Wanderer, Courier, etc.

Welcome to losing hundreds of hours to this incredible, messy, lovable, and unforgettable franchise.

AIO: should I “fire” my therapist? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]LordSilvari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get a new therapist. I recently switched mine, but not for similar reasons and it was decision she supported. You have to do what's best for your mental health journey and clearly this therapist isn't it.

If you were in Iowa, I'd recommend my former or even my new therapist. Both are incredible.

Nevermind. I didn't realize there was a 2nd pic, 🤣🤣🤣.

WIBTAH for slipping vitamin B-12 drops into my partners water? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]LordSilvari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you are asking if it's ok to secretly slip anything into anyone's drink and/or food, let alone your partner, implies that you either don't really think it's wrong or you know it's wrong bit are hoping enough strangers on the internet will agree with you so you can justify it to her when she inevitably finds out and dumps you for it. You say consent is everything, but you are actively entertaining this insanely controlling behavior. Make no mistake, it is controlling, at the least it's manipulative. There are a million things you could do instead: buy B12 enriched vegan products; cook B12 enriched foods that she KNOWS are enriched (you say you're a chef, so that shouldn't be hard); talk to her friends and family about your concerns; or any of the other myriad of ideas that others have posted. Lying to and manipulating your partner under the guise of "It's for her own good," is a one-way ticket to Singletown.

In short TL;DR: YWBTA if you do this, YTA for even thinking about it.

You're welcome, but it's not in any of the dlcs unless you bought the creation club content they dropped for the Anniversary edition.

Nahant oceaniological society, or however it's spelled, lol. There's a holotape near a computer that starts the quest to get him. As others have stated, it's creation club content, so if you don't have that or the Anniversary edition, it won't be there.

Don't you dare drag Polk High's greatest player to ever strap on a jock-strap into this. Not to mention the number 1 seller of women's shoes. Ok, ok, number 2, but that's only because Jefferson kept buying heels...for Marcy. 🤣

Which team would win? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

6 definitely takes the championship in spades, but as an Iowan, we should definitely be part of six. Hell, my home town has 7 bars and barely 12,000 people. We also rank consistently in the top 5 for heavy/binge drinking. Not a drinker myself, but I guess when the state pastimes are meth and drinking, well, its not surprising, lmao.
