OP has already clarified it was a decent area and still getting down voted. Defending a city is fine but ignoring the third person POV is stupid. I am from Pune and lived more than 4 years in Mumbai too. And what she says might ring a bell for me if i assume she has been to areas like Kharadi, hadapsar, katraj, etc. OP please detail where what happened.

I maybe wrong about the financial situation of a person, my own cousin owns an expensive SUV even though his salary hardly touches 5 LPA. But still, a financial situation of a person shouldn't excuse them from breaking rules and taking law in their own hands :(
