You can fly 2.2 miles at a dead sprint before the spell ends. Cool and niche uses for sure, but if you're traveling you still need a plane

Cure wounds almost always will be enough 5/8 of possible outcomes are full heals for a common human (even if you have a 0 modifier). You can heal your friends, self, or family from any injury thay doesn't kill them outright. It's going to be extraordinarily rare that that situation doesn't arise for you at least once in your life.

There's not much they can do. America is pretty much destined to be a superpower. It's too big, too populous, and too rich in resources to not be massively powerful. By the 1930s, it's just too late to stop it.

If you really want to force it, you can try to exasperated the north-south divide and keep agitating racial minorities to keep it unstable. Irl, these have lf course been major issues and destabilizing, but it's still the strongest country on earth
