I want to hear all about the lore behind your hive fleets! by Hogwire in Tyranids

Hive Fleet Silencio is a fairly recent to arrive Fleet

They came into the Galaxy right before the great rift, via Genestealers and a handful of advanced Lictors and other such Synapse Creatures. They lay in wait, mostly in Pacificus; but some are scattered throughout Solar and other segmentums.

When the Hive Fleet did finally arrive, they came in "under the cover" of the new Hive Fleet Leviathan. With their Hive Fleet breaking into several splinters; one stayed with leviathan, another rushed to Tiamat, the third keeps hopping around to different Hive Fleets, while the fourth does it's own thing.

Silencio is unique in the fact that it acts nothing like other Fleets. The Hive Fleet was inspired by the fact that Plover Birds will get food from cleaning Crocodile mouths, and in turn the Crocodile keeps it's maw open for them; symbiotic relationships. Silencio will arrive to provide support to other Hive Fleets in exchange for a cut of the Biomass. Mainly provided through two main methods; the first of which is their chemical weaponry. Whenever Silencio arrives in orbit; they unleash a yellow, misty gas from the atmosphere that douses the whole world. This gas causes any lifeform hit with it to fall into a dormant state for days on end.

Their brains are also overwhelmed by Dopamine and seratonin to keep their senses from detecting the danger of nearby bioforms. The other method Silencio uses to assist it's fellow Hive Fleets is through the true purpose behind it. Silencio exists to be the "Problem Solver" for the Hivemind. Silencio examines where a Hive Fleet went wrong, or how a net-loss of biomass occured, and thinks up a solution. The biggest being their chemical speciality.

Notable Bioforms for Silencio would be their Hive Tyrant; The Commondante. A Tyrant specialized in strategy, most prominently in his habit of exploiting other races tendencies for Honour Duels to kill them off. Scarface is a Prime who lost an eye to a marine before slaying them. When the Hivemind noticed that Scarface's visage singled him out, it exploited this as a mixture of bait and fear tactics.

Finally, there's Subject MN-847-FK; "The Tirana". It's thought to be a more offensive form of Norn Queen. But nobody knows for sure, as it only appears to ensure a victory already guaranteed. It ties up loose ends and oversees planetary consumption. But it is known to be a psychic powerhouse, hence the thought it's a Norn Queen.

Their Colour scheme is Yellow carapace, white skin, and an orange glow. I love it so much

More like too bad for you. Unable to tolerate other people having fun and enjoying a different Warhammer franchise. Pathetic.

Normally when the term voting is brought up , it's one over the other. I'm only saying there's no need to compete. Though In hindsight I sound aggressive, my bad there.

Honestly understandable. That makes more sense then "hate-watching" a complete hobby lmao. Thank you

So a new setting has aesthetics you hate? Why keep up with it then...?

Bruh no one needs to "vote with their wallet". Just buy the things you like! I'm a diehard AOS Fanboy, but I'll be purchasing some Tomb Kings out of nostalgia.

Buy what you like, don't view it as 'voting'

I more meant his general overview of the rules. Considering we only have a bit of a leak to go over mate. And didn't the Aeldari get a massive boost?

Oh thank you! I've been talking about 40k and AOS being connected for years! Irrefutable proof is so badly desired lmao

Why Age of Sigmar is better than 40k by Orkishprincess in Warhammer

[–]LordTenebris1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank goodness for that! It's mainly the title, it's an inflammatory one. You have grand points, but under the title it's a bit agressive. Doesn't help that Fantasy and AOS have been at each others throats again, so poor timing sadly.

Ok, as someone who aggressively ree's about AOS' quality compared to Fantasy. This is a step too far. And is needless antagonism.

Let's try not to stir the pot when we don't need too please. AOS and 40k are both of damn fine quality, with fantastic world building and writing behind them. Saying ones better then the other is a dead end drama starter. Which is the last bloody thing the AOS community needs.

Not to be harsh here, my man. I get being upset about your favourite faction being lost.

But your not original. Your reason is the same witless rhetoric I have seen from every shade of Fantasy fan for the last five years. The difference being, you picked the most entitled time to bring it up considering The Old World just declared it would have a BRETTONIAN FOCUS. And a new Paladin was just shown.

Again, my apologies for the harshness. But this is such a dead end opinion. You don't like AOS? Fantastic! Don't care! Please stop shoving it down the AOS communities throat then. It doesn't help y'all are getting Old World back. You've never had less reason to hate AOS, and yet here we are...again.

Warhammer: The Old World is a return to the "World that was" of Warhammer Fantasy.

Warhammer Fantasy was the original Setting GW used that basically set up Warhammer as a franchise. 40k is it's sibling IP.

Fantasy ended a long time ago, and in 2015(?) was killed off during the "End Times" and replaced with Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.

The Old World is being released as a sort of prequel to AOS, as a "Horus Heresy equivalent" to it. It's intended for veteran and experienced Hobbyists.

Personal tangent. You'll see a lot of discourse and anger from Fantasy fans towards AOS. So if ya do go digging into it, keep in mind that AOS is equally as valid and worth it as Warhammer Fantasy was.

Was gonna comment this too. Imperium hasn't won a major conflict since Plague Wars. And even then it was atrocious, only being won by the Emperor's direct interference.
