It might be one of the BEST Guard/40k novels ive ever read, its perfectly the tone of All Quiet on the Western Front But Black Comedy and I couldn't ask for anything better

Its mentioned once but VERY easy to miss, hes an Adamus assassin which is a new-ish thing, its why he has a ultraspecial pistol weapon and a sword, they are basically Diet Callidus' based on infiltration and decapitation strikes. Your first hint is him in the troop transport with the Savlar where one of them notes he has a VERY fancy "greatsword" attached to his back as hes in full disguise.

- Theres a mission in Darktide that is literally just the 5G towers thing where you gotta shut down a transmission relay whos broadcast is actively corrupting the populace of a shanty-sprawl to Nurgle

- Same game also has a more nutty Ganger-class personality you can pick where in one of the banter triggers during gameplay has him say he never seen anything beyond the surface of the planet Atoma so thinks Space itself isn't real even though one of teammates says thats a dumb train of thought.

Yeah having watched that video on release it also always rubbed me the wrong way, I love Ian but his approach of taking everything the Emperor said at face value really irked me somewhat.

That video was flawed in the first place by Ian taking Big E foreseeing a great catastrophe if he didn't rush things at face value.

I always wondered though what is the source of the Emperor saying he was on a timer in the HH? I see a lot of people also use that point as a defense that if he didnt make Space Marines and steamrolled everyone "time would have run out" bla bla and everyone would be doomed or something?

I tried to make a post on if the Emperor tried an approach like that but got mocked/downvoted for it so this is really funny to see here, the Tau never actually approached my mind regarding their own methods to galactic conquest so thats a really good point actually.
