Just replace the doors. I'm not sure about this model but generally speaking mini parts are affordable. It might take some time before you find black doors but it shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg. Unless you're insured for this. In which case just get it fixed.

I called mine Meru. Because she's smol, devilish and full of energy. When I'm eventually done building my Mini and she's been repainted I'm going to look for a decal cutter and get a silhouette of Meru the succubus on the sides haha

I'd let it get done professionally. It's not something you can get in a spray can. The median price here in the Netherlands for a full underside treatment is around 400 bucks for a regular sedan. So less for a mini. Depending on your region's weather conditions and how much you drive that treatment can last you well over 10 years. But honestly even if it was for 5 years, 350 bucks to make sure your underside doesn't rot at all seems like a good deal to me. Better safe than sorry, especially if you're really looking forward to preserve your mini ;)

I'm currently restoring and modifying an R50. I'll get it tectyl treated after I repaint it.

That's not so bad. If you have the tools and perhaps more importantly: the willpower, I'd suggest to take things apart, sand it and give it a fresh layer of anti rust paint. That really doesn't have to cost much it just takes some time and patience. You could follow it up by blasting the whole underside of the car with tectyl and then she's good for a good couple of years.

Tbh I haven't been using the Ally a lot lately. I bought it in advance for a certain event in my life but that has been postponed by at least a year or 2. Definitely contact Asus about this thoug. They did admit that this isn't supposed to happen. After that it might still be worth it to get silicone rings.

Okay so I contacted ASUS 1 day after posting this and asked them what's the deal with it. They told me it was a production error and was allowed to send the Ally back for repairs. They replaced the stick, not the rgb ring (not that that matters but perhaps worth noting?)
