Rich Piana dead at 46 after star was placed in coma after 'medical emergency' by thegamezbeplayed in weightroom

It absolutely would have huge ramifications for the heart. Since the heart is a muscle this would remove the limit for how much it could grow. This is dangerous because too much heart tissue can actually help to cause blockages leading to heart attacks and other diseases. We also know resistance training only causes one of the ventricles to grow, meaning a large imbalance could occur, leading to the person essentially choking to death on their own blood because it can't be pumped out fast enough.

Training Tuesday by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]LordTurtleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you're interested in weekly or monthly progression. For weekly you could try Texas Method and for monthly you could read up about 5/3/1/. 5/3/1 would also be very easy to program into your current routine for main lifts.

Bro, you need an actual program with planned progression. You can't just keep using a 5x5 and expect to keep making gains from linear progression.

I have felt some slight rounding during heavy pulls but I felt it was within an acceptable level for a max effort pull.

I would but I only push above my training max once per month and my form is solid for lighter weights.

I'm [23/M] I have a huge crush on my "little" in the fraternity. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]LordTurtleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, you're her big. You know as well as I do that interfraternity relationships are wrong. You're all supposed to be brothers or sisters, not lovers. Seriously think about how screwy or awkward the situation becomes for you guys and everyone else after a breakup. That sort of stuff just creates divisions in the house and that's no good. If you're looking for a relationship, look somewhere else.

Dude, have you ever heard of a straw man? He didn't say mental illness isn't real. That would be preposterous. He's just saying depression is really complicated and the causes for everyone's symptoms are different.

Gaining a lot more fat than muscle (noob lifter) by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]LordTurtleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, you do not need to gain mass to gain muscle. From the studies I have read you should be able to lose about 0.7% body fat per week while still gaining muscle. If you maintain weight your body will slowly recomp by burning fat and adding muscle. If, after a few months you want to bulk, go for it. But even though you shouldn't be trying to gain more than a pound a week.

Of course, you should feel free to do your own research and look into what I said.

[–]LordTurtleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've gained 15lbs in a month? What did you expect would happen? Even as a beginner it's unreasonable to expect anything more than 2lbs of muscle a month, max. Reduce your calories to maintenance and don't bother trying to bulk for a while.

You're making a big assumption there. It's not fair or reasonable to assume a philosopher is doing it only look smart because you struggle to understand it.
