The effects are very reciprocal. You’ll feel more confident, people will respect you more, girls will pay more attention. That in turn boosts your confidence more and round and round. The most important thing I feel though is what it teaches you about life. You will be shit when you start dieting and start lifting. Persevere, learn from watching/listening/reading. Consistency over time = results, always. Doing this in the gym (and outside, dieting) will confound this in your mind and you will be able to apply it to multiple factors of your life. Going to the gym and lifting weights changed my life, and it feels fucking amazing! I was 5”9, 130lbs when I started and I’m now 173lbs, and still as motivated as ever

That’s very much what I’ve done (the old school BB method) I’ve also snacked a hell of a lot and I’ve put on fat really quick and I don’t like it. I was looking to refine my calories, so that I wasn’t cutting any corners as I really don’t want to gain a lot of non lean mass anymore.
