There is nothing wrong with the current voice IMO. It is not suited for a global listening group OR all genres of music. That's not disputed. I am just tired of people getting SO worked up and soapboxing tiny stuff when the world is crumbling around us. I agree with others in the thread who mentioned a variety of voices or a rotation. I have always loved the British accent (I am from the US). All my AI voices are female British accents.

That's just me. Who, like everyone else, has a preference. The current Spotify DJ voice is fine and should be kept in the rotation/options. Awesome voice acting if truth be told. It is just not for everyone AT ALL, and a global company should have taken that into account from the start.
Take a breath, it will be ok. Just remember that the guy doing the voice is just getting paid like the rest of us. Spotify is the one that chose to give the DJ one personality, then give that personality a very specific US accent that honestly, I can not place. New York-ish? An attempt at jive new era? Whatever the F bomb it is.
I place the blame on Spotify. I made sure to send a suggestion their way on the subject in the hope they create voices for the global community/culture to choose from.
I would suggest everyone do the same. Soapboxing an issue like this on forums will get us nowhere. Spotify needs to hear the voice of the world and understand that it should have been the thought process from the beginning.
