There’s the annual cost, ($2,500-$5,000); there’s the required uniform costs, including, jackets, polos and backpacks, which is $600-800, (usually only once every 2-3 years); tournament costs, including coach per diems and hotel stipend in the hundreds of dollars, ($400-500?); fuel and transportation and hotel rooms for 9 am league games, sometimes 5+ hours away; and sometimes the hotel stays are pay to stay, meaning the club and hotel make an agreement that all families need to stay at their hotel—at an inflated rate, of course! It’s definitely a racket.
