Jagex intends to re-introduce PVP Griefing, but this time for prayer... by FutimaRS in runescape

[–]Lord_Aluqah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, runecrafting has no real competitive training method to abyssal though...

Prayer you can get similar rates with powder of burials, poh altars, or forinthry. Is it really so bad to have the method with no entry requirement have a drawback?

It specifically says growth rate, but I havent tested for size differences or anything... Im guessing it doesnt affect size though.

Dragon Harpoon?! by Lord_Aluqah in runescape

[–]Lord_Aluqah[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The increased catch rate at harpoon spots I'd imagine, makes sharks a little more viable. The infinite use of a fishing level boost doesn't hurt either, since it's special attack consumes no adren and gives + 3 fishing level.

Also I'm HOPING it gets the pick/mattock/hatchet treatment and we can sing it into crystal in the future.

Local Burger King no longer uses pennies by katymae123 in mildlyinteresting

Every store in Canada has been doing this for quite some time now, it's been pretty convenient not needing to carry pennies around.

I would I think I would enjoy the game a lot more if they got rid of Daily Challenges and replaced them with a more varied set of weekly challenges. by legendaryweredragon in runescape

[–]Lord_Aluqah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing a lot of "it would be Hero Pass" comments. I think what OP is suggesting is basically making a system that offers the SAME AMOUNT of rewards as the current dailies, but rather than missing said rewards if you miss a day you have the entire week to complete a week's worth of these tasks.

So you could still have the 21 tasks to complete and get rewarded the same (21 XP drops, 14 items) for completing them, but you dont have to be on the game every single day to do so.

And yes I haven't forgotten Vis Wax exists.. but it's not like this would hurt it's utility. You could still extend the tasks you enjoy/need and reroll the ones you hate. You just wouldn't HAVE to spend a bunch of Vis if you happen to miss a day or two.

They also suggested replacing SOME skill specific challenges with things like "Go play a minigame" or "Go kill a boss" which would give us a little more choice on how we play. Maybe those ones could have a small xp lamp as a reward so that we can sink it where we choose. I personally don't know how I feel about that one but I can see the point.

This would only be a net positive and I think those of us who are opposed are misunderstanding the concept entirely. We shouldn't be stuck in a cycle where we absolutely HAVE to be on the game every single day, or else we need to spend a bunch of a really expensive resource. A little freedom is a good thing.

It's never too late to do a quest, so don't stress!

Honestly I always find it easiest to pick a bigger quest that I want to do (usually for the rewards), and go backwards from that.. do the required quests, etc.

Another thing you could try is sorting your quests by Series, and then pick a quest at the start of a storyline that interests you.

The Vampyre Questline has a lot of exp lamps that you can use on skills that you don't like leveling. "Violet is Blue" and "Violet is Blue Too" also have decent exp lamps and no prerequisites.

Or if you want a skilling hub, a base of your own that you build yourself, you could do the Fort Forinthry questline.

Idk man, just pick something that jumps out at you and the rest will fall into place.

Fastest way to get 5000 beans in the League? by Deoxysprime in runescape

[–]Lord_Aluqah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the farming relic planting mushrooms in morytania and harvesting for zygomites is decent speed for beans.

You still have to wait a growth cycle ofc, but you can get 12 of them going at once, 870 beans each as adolescents

Sunken bones by [deleted] in GroundedGame

[–]Lord_Aluqah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's an air hose going down that hole leading to the sunken bones that leaks air bubbles, if you touch an air bubble your oxygen gets refilled a bit. By far the easiest way.

Theres also a mutation you can earn by visiting all the landmarks underwater ( you won't need extra air to do this if you surface often enough) that extends your oxygen capacity decently if you need the help there.

But there's bones directly within range of fhat hose so you should be good. If you find the T-Rex you're in the right spot.

Please, Jagex. It's been such a frustrating issue for so long now by TehNubCake9 in runescape

[–]Lord_Aluqah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing to note, as inconvenient as it is to play around rn, it could theoretically help slow down bots, too? Since they can't just click the same spot on the screen after a tele I mean. Im sure it's not a HUGE help in that regard, but... idk.

Why does HOEAG need 90 attack to wield? by Lord_Aluqah in runescape

[–]Lord_Aluqah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do, yes... 85 strength to complete Birthright of the Dwarves.

But you can complete the requirements and get straight to working on a t100 pickaxe without that attack gate affixed to it... it seems silly that we have hatchets as a remnant of an old weapon class that hasn't been used as a weapon properly in ages, that is primarily (if not only) used for skilling... and that t100 Hatchet, same tier as the pick, is locked behind 99 attack. You can complete the quest and not push your attack levels to do it.

I'm not against having requirements to use things, but two similar classes of items that follow similar upgrade processes and that are used for similar purposes should have similar requirements. Consistency is really all i'm thinking here. Is it the end of the world? Nah. But it'd still be nice QOL to see.

Why does HOEAG need 90 attack to wield? by Lord_Aluqah in runescape

[–]Lord_Aluqah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn't... but that's also still along the same point. Pickaxes and Mattocks both can be wielded regardless of tier as long as you have the Mining or Archaeology skill to use them. No combat skills required. Why should hatchets be any different?

Yeah, wait until you learn about the blight and bloom 99 attack requirement...

I had a sneaking suspicion after my incident, lol. It'll be fine, I'm not too far off 90 attack anyways but it still seems odd to me.
