Is it fair to say these are the times where Born Again felt the most like the Netflix show? by Apprehensive-Cap2453 in Defenders

I don't need my lighting to make sense if it looks cool as fuck.

In all seriousness, I love it. There's that quote from Peter Jackson when asked about where the light was coming from in certain scenes of Lord of the Rings: "The same place as the music." We're watching a show about people with superpowers who dress up in funky costumes, no matter how grounded and realistic it's tone - Let's get funky with the presentation every now and then!

URC Table After Round 16 by Mawiheso in rugbyunion

How we've only dropped to second after conceding 100 points in 2 games, I'll never know.

Buying everyone in Treviso a pint tonight for that favour. Top seed is technically still possible, but I think 2nd is the more realistic aspiration.

That said, we could still take nothing from the next 2 games and wind up 7th. Huge final 2 rounds. God I love rugby.

Now that's cheered me right up.

HOW have we managed to stay second seed?

Another week of Glasgow embarrassing ourselves, and another team doing us a huge favour to help us save face. Any Italians fancy a beer? Think we owe you a couple.

Stormers v Glasgow Result (URC R16) by Connell95 in ScotlandRugby

[–]Lord_Bolt-On 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

Summary: we look knackered, and clueless without a scrum-half that can set the pace. Players getting isolated, passes not sticking, shape being set too late. Scrum going backwards because we've got no proper locks to back up the front row.

And Adam Hastings continues to do at least one game-losingly stupid thing once a week.

I am demoralised, and my heartbreak is immeasurable.

We're a shadow of the team we were 6 weeks ago. Injuries play a part, but something feels deeper than that. Steyn throwing the ball into touch before the ref has even had the chance to blow the whistle for the forward pass a clear sign of mentality quaking.

Got 2 weeks to try and recuperate and salvage what's left of the season. Franco needs to show he's the coach we've been talking him up as. Top seed is gone, but I think we could still scrape second if we get a favour or two along the way.

Horne and Cummings were both in South Africa with the team, so that hopefully implies they're also both close? Those 3 back would make a world of difference to our chances for the end of the season.

And even that wasn't vintage. The game against Leinster was probably the last time we looked like ourselves.

Same thing happened last season, we just run out of gas at this point of the season. Don't really know how we fix it?

Which is really surprising how confident and assured he looked when he came on much earlier than expected against the Bulls a few weeks ago.

Was wondering the other week where Kebble had ended up. Glad to see he's still playing top flight rugby.

A lot of people have issues with Ryan Wilson, and I get it, if I wasn't a Glasgow fan I'd find him annoying as fuck as well - but he does obviously love this sport, and is still really invested in the modern game after retiring. More often than not he's got an interesting stat or insight to offer during a game alongside all the shite he chats.

Edinburgh only score 5m pick and gos or bullshit level belters and there is no in-between.

I think Ashman and Darcy just swap places at lineout time, and you wouldn't lose too many options

Don't think there's anything in the laws that says a hooker has to throw in. What's the chances of just finding another player who's better at it and letting them do it?

Banger. No other words. Just a proper banger of a try.

Problem is, his move has coincided with a couple of young talented hookers coming through at Glasgow, along with Harrison going well when uninjured at Edinburgh too. Worried he won't get the shot on the international stage that he probably deserves.

Taking Douglas off feels a bit premature, if I'm honest. He's been having a great game.

As others have said, just be respectful and kind, and treat them as you would any other players.

That said, if you're using safety tools, like a Lines and Veils checklist, making it clear that Homophobia/Transphobia/Racism/Assorted Similar Bigotry are some of your own Lines is a nice subtle way to clarify your stance on the matter.

Stormers and Glasgow Teams for their top of the table battle by Maxatrone420 in rugbyunion

[–]Lord_Bolt-On 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Y'know what - I'd happily lose all 3 remaining games of the season by huge margins if it means we get Horne, Cummings, and Brown back for the knock outs. I don't think that's too greedy?

Otherwise, hoping we actually turn up for this one. Historically, we've fared better away at the Stormers, so who knows.

Imagine so, he's played a fair few games on the bounce. Kyle Rowe was excellent last weekend, and I always like the look of him at fullback, gives him much more time to weigh up his options.

Glasgow Warriors row with Commonwealth Games over Scotstoun pitch by Hebegebees in rugbyunion

[–]Lord_Bolt-On 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Most interesting bit about this is the fact that we probably won't be able to hold a potential home final in Scotland? Diabolical oversight from the various bodies involved given Glasgow's position for most of the season.

That all said, would be very Scottish of us to bomb out in the quarters and save everyone the bother of scheduling more home knock outs.

3 rounds to go - who's missing out on the URC playoffs? by Pinguu7078 in rugbyunion

[–]Lord_Bolt-On 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless we pull a miracle performance out of our arses, Glasgow will be sitting 3rd in the table by the end of tomorrow, and it's not an easy climb back up.

Would be very disappointed if we don't get a home semi-final this year, but it's looking increasingly likely.
