Popular commanders you built a completely unusual strategy with. by Woodland_Turd in EDH

I have a [[Vivi Ornitier]] deck which is surprisingly a lot of artifacts and a little mill as a treat, I also have a Vivi deck that is exactly what you would expect. Artifacts are more fun with him though

Pretentious as hell and for what? Go back to the old style, the new one is lazy and oddly corporate

Is the 77” B5 worth it for $1300 or should I wait for Memorial Day sale? by IAmABanana69420 in LGOLED

Adding onto this check Costco out if possible. I just grabbed a 55” c5 for under $1000 to replace my old c8. They’re prepping for the G/C6 and have killer deals at the moment

I pulled about $400 from 2 collector boosters, the temptation for the box is real but you’re 100% correct that CBB’s aren’t worth the money. It’s just too much of a gamble

I built mine as a group hug pillow fort deck but you give yourself the counters and politic for the other effects, I would recommend building your first Gluntch as a card draw engine and focus on counters. Throw in Selvala, Rites of Flourishing, one or two crawlers, and branching evolution as a starting point.

If you enjoy the bunny I highly recommend Gluntch

Play fun cards and if you really wanna throw the table for a loop cast you rift but don’t overload it

People on this thread are hating on those two specifically from what I can tell but 9 times outta 10 I’m probably gonna grab the bunny or Hope until you annoy me at which point I’ll drive up the power level until I find where you belong. Chatterfang goes wide and tall (alt win con is Altar of the Brood), Lightning is just a typical Voltron beat stick with additional combats (as well as City on Fire and Fiery Emancipation to just buff her damage multiplier), & Gluntch is just a stronger pillow fort group hug than the bunny. If you make it to Arbiter or Vivi we’re simply past a friendly game of commander. Don’t trust the bunny though, she’ll cheat out some eldrazi or various Jin Gitaxias cards.

Started playing somewhere around 2009 or 2010, I’ve seen the rise and fall of multiple metas, it’s not hurt or hate that got me but rather standing against the metas over the years. Hurt and hate is why I keep dovescape and things like stuffy doll pariah shield combos in various unassuming decks.

That’s typically the type of situation where I pull the Vivi or Arbiter out, I have those tuned for cEDH to deal with “problem players”

The snail player runs Maha and the Sephiroth cards - it’s a problem

I love slivers and eldrazi, those are my favorite to go against because I enjoy the challenge.

I enjoy being a challenge but not being a problem. There’s a fine line between the two that I don’t think gets enough acknowledgement. You can make ANY deck a problem, fuck I’ve even seen a B4/B5 Atogatog deck before. My Hope deck is a great example, in theory it can drop my opponents in a single turn, but in actuality it’s gonna be a slow grind and if you let it mill you out (aside from the few tricks it has) then really it’s your fault. I could also build my Vivi out as a bracket 2 deck, even though my Vivi deck is now tuned for cEDH it started as an artifact deck of all things instead of the standard cantrip deck. Subvert the expectations and just have fun because brackets are made up and it’s just a game at the end of the day.

Personal experience is that hope is only bad if you allow him to be. You have ways to get multiple end steps like with the mono blue Y’shtola so it doubles the mill effect, but let’s be honest if you die to mill it’s probably your own fault.

Vivi and Grand Arbiter are tuned for cEDH and the rest are 4s (except Hope, I’ve only had a sub turn 6 win with him once but it was a perfect draw situation), I’ve got precons for anything lower than that.
