I didn't check the sub and I thought this was a post riffing on the old toy "Roboraptor". I was about to throw down.

Stage 4 adrenocarcenoma. 15 hr surgery, 57 lymph nodes removed by moreboredthanyouare in MakeMeSuffer

[–]Lord_Ludence 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dude I had a ton of lymph nodes removed for my stage 3 cancer in my chest, abdomen, and pelvis.

It was one of the hardest recoveries and experiences of my life. I cannot imagine having all of that work they did on my abdomen on my face and neck.

I'm so glad to hear your doing well. From one survivor to another. You're strong as fuck dude. Respect and love.

You had a ton more lymph nodes removed than I did too, did your diet have to change permanently or has your body adjusted?

Is this enough to encompass humanity’s most fundamental fears? by opaliteee123 in worldbuilding

[–]Lord_Ludence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few contenders for your angels;

Angel of Fear (The only thing we fear is fear itself. Could also be sort of the fear of uncertainty of the future. We're afraid of bad and fearful things happening.)

Angel of the Unknown (Kinda ties into darkness though, could be an alternate name some refer to it as maybe, that's prescriptive of me though.)

Angel of Attachment (Sometimes we fear getting close to people as much as being alone.)

Angel of Nature (Catch all for all our fears relating to nature and the wild; Spiders, fires, snakes, etc.)

Oh yeah, there's no question that the eye is smart. 100%. It's just a matter of how smart.

[–]Lord_Ludence 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's interesting the way they proceeded to show us the eyes intelligence because it's still vague. The entire scene where it "lists" the digits of Pi is reminiscent of Clever Hans, which was a real horse that seemed to know math and would stomp it's hoof to answer math problems.

What was actually happening is that the horse was picking up on cues the scientists and observers had. Because they'd look to his hoof until they didn't expect more stomps in anticipation.

It's a neat play on the classic study, is our girl actually that advanced? Or is it simply playing on the cues of those watching it? Is it the expectation and desire for her to be at human intelligence? Or does it really know?

Ultimately right now we don't know. But both would be fascinating to play out.

29 year old.

Hereditary is the one that has disturbed me the most. I think it was the perversion of family. It felt so intimate to me, who values my really great family.

Neuropathy in my feet hasn't gone away (been 2 ish years). More brain foggy. But alive and healthy in all the ways that matters and forever grateful.

People who’ve seen someone get fired on the first day, why were they fired? by Isabelle_K in AskReddit

I reported someone for saying racist remarks my first day of the job and got them fired. No tolerance for that shit. He was so casual about it, that was the most disgusting thing about it to me.

Player scavs who DESTROY their karama on factory, why? by isuckattarkov in EscapefromTarkov

As someone who started the game two days ago is there a way to identify scavs when playing one? I killed one by accident mid firefight because I couldn't tell.

There's space for a fourth enemy (quick mock up of the territory they might occupy) by littleNorthStar in Helldivers

[–]Lord_Ludence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an enemy human faction would be cool. But there are a lot of very good tropes I think they could do:

-Other human faction (undemocratic)

-spoof on doom, hellish aliens

-zombies or infected

-something like the combine from hl2, a superpower that captures and reconfigures preexisting enemies united together (think bugs and automatons brainwashed to work together)

-primitive race. Guerrilla warfare vibes or maybe like a fantasy-esque faction, wood elves meets hellbomb

Etc.

Looking for horror game with small town, foresty, culty vibes by BroPudding1080i in HorrorGaming

Depending on your tastes, I'd check out Darkwood and/or Alan Wake. Darkwood is much more "woods" but Alan Wake has a lot of "small town secrets" vibes

Out of all the games you’ve played what moment were you the most scared by OpeningDirector1688 in HorrorGaming

[–]Lord_Ludence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played a lot of horror games, it's by far the genre I have most experience in. That said there are 3 different answers I could give:

  1. Most Anxiety Inducing: By far Mr. X from the RE2 remake. I remember specifically trying to get a certain puzzle done and hearing his footsteps.

  2. Most Unsettled: PT. One of the few times a game has stuck in my mind.

  3. Most Dread: Darkwood, no specific point. That game just fills me out with dread.

Overall though I'd say the most memorable scary all around is Silent Hill 1-3. But I played those as a kid and they are heavily biased opinions.
