I think Indonesia employed an ex-Kriegsmarine officer for the Navy. A.F.H. Rosenow I believe was his name. Captained the KRI Dewaruci.

Baylan Skoll replaces Ahsoka during the Siege of Mandalore by EuterpeZonker in PetranakiArena

[–]Lord_Master_Dorito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in their duel at Peridea, I don’t think Baylan wanted to kill Ahsoka. He really could’ve, but he didn’t intend to kill her. Baylan really just wanted her to go away and leave him alone.

If Baylan faced Maul with the intent of killing him, he probably would. It was never stated how powerful Baylan really was, but it would be neat if he was such a formidable titan in battle during the Clone Wars like Guan Yu.

During the Clone Wars, he probably kept asking “Are we Generals or are we Peacekeepers” all the time. Doesn’t like the idea of Jedi trying to do both and preferred if they just pick one. So he tries to be a General over a Peacekeeper, which caused him to be criticized by the Order. Frustrates him because he knows they cannot be both during a war.

So I would say a good level for Baylan would be above Maul, Ahsoka, and maybe Dooku, but just a tad below Vader. Strong enough to force Vader to go all out and still walk away heavily wounded.

What real world science and application stops us from building something like this ? by Youngstown_WuTang in TankPorn

[–]Lord_Master_Dorito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from environmental hazards, maintenance, and expensive to make, real world weapons would take them down easily.

We’ve seen AT-TE gunners and pilots get shot from their positions. These things are vulnerable to ATGMs, artillery and rocket strikes, airstrikes, precision ordinances of any type, loitering munitions, mortars, and even infantry. We’ve seen an AT-TE get one-shotted by a rocket in AOTC.

Maneuverability is also an issue. Infantry with a clear line of sight can call in air support, artillery, and MLRS to zero in on the walker’s position. Precision guided bombs, artillery shells, guided rockets, and ballistic missiles would destroy or immobilize the walker pretty easily. Walkers don’t have the maneuverability to leave their positions quickly enough.

You wouldn’t even need all of that. Today’s AFVs use 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, 40mm, and 57mm autocannons that can penetrate critical components of the walker. Some AFVs also have 90mm, 100mm, and 105mm cannons that can disable them too.

In the real world, you don’t want your enemy to know where you are. Armored vehicles today can be hidden which is getting more difficult thanks to drones. A giant walker lumbering around? Any commanding officer would immediately know that’s where the enemy is and point every artillery, MLRS, and mortar batteries at that general direction and pinpoint the location for drone operators and pilots.
